hi roblan
most of the younger generation in poland, speak english and normally very well, so thats not a problem you can ask them. as for monel that depends on how long your stay is. i spent 400 quid in a week, but that was spoiling my self lol.

as for accommodation, theres plenty on this link. other wise i think bubbawoo on here has some.

are you looking for a central Gdansk apartment? What about Gdynia or Sopot?

So I need a bed in Gdansk on the night of Spain - Italy but finally I have got frustrated with the moronic hoteliers and people renting apartments.
1000 zloty for somewhere 15km from the ground I accepted. Mininum 2 night stay I reluctantly accepted but payment in advance was last straw for me.
So I am driving 2 hours south and staying in Torun for 200 zloty.
What are other people doing - accepting the prices or also deciding that there is a point above which better to leave town ? In Germany and France at the world cup I cant ever remember paying more than about 60 euro for a bed.

i live in gdynia near Gdansk and you are better staying in Torun. It's a fantastic little city with great bars and nightlife and the hotels are cheap and a decent standard. Watch out for taxis, stamp your bus tickets and have a good time.
