They're saying that according to the travel agency Orbitz, Krakow is the "new Prague". There are a lot of artists and students and was voted (i think) 7th for the yr 2007. January and february are the best season of the year for visits when the carnival lasts.

theyve been calling krakow the new prague for yonks... not quite the same if you ask me...

I really hope that Krakow doesnt turn in to Prauge, I love Prauge but has been ruined by stag and hen parties...

Well I have to admit I was glad I took some nice frocks since the ladies dressed very elegant and it certainly isn't the typ of place I would have gone out in the evening wearing jeans and a top. I also made a few purchases, Krakow is in top 3 fav cities and Ive visited a fair few.

No, not anymore. Our King moved the capital to Warsaw quite recently.

Well, Kraków is still a capital (that's why it's official name is Royal Capital City of Kraków). Warsaw was named, but the capital privilage was not taken away from Cracow. That means we have two capitals :)
