Right, the last post wasn't too well worded. I am arriving on Tuesday in Krakow and still don't have a flat, so we will be looking to stay in a B&B or something like that for a couple of days. Looking for any reccommendations about double rooms in a hostel, B&B or hotel for not too much money. I have had a look on the internet but looking for a bit of personal experience.

Premium hostel on Pomorska street is in a safe area close to center of the city, Freedom hostel is also in the same building. One on the 4th floor one on the 5th. The main hallway is being redone though so it may be a bit messy getting to it but once you're on the right floor it is fine. I did not stay there but went to look if I would have someone stay there and they seemed decent, about 150zl / night.

OK Krakowians or whatever you call yourselves. Can you recommend good hotels for me. It's for a special stay on a special day so hang the expense.

look I'm serious here. Honest. For once. I'll cry wolf no more. Must be someone on from krakow that can guide me.

szarlotka, as for a romantic hotel, check out Hotel Copernicus... on the oldest street in Krakow, between Wawel and Rynek...

Sheraton overlooks Wawel Castle. Nearby there's also a hotel called "Pod Wawelem".

I stayed here and would recommend it.

Dont be put off but the building was the gestapo HQ and there is a small museum in the basement.

I've stayed twice at Peregrinus, 5 min walk from the rynek, good price and comfy.

Suddenly I have the same problem as before, but now it doesn't need to be a double room as the missus has dissapeared. However finding accommodation in this town is really hard when you don't speak Polish, so I am just looking for the cheapest place i can near the centre.

Very nice, but outwith my price range for someone who just needs something before getting a flat. I really need something really inexpensive. I don't want to be living in a midden with all the homeless folk...but the cheapest tourist hostel would be fine for a night.

There used to be some real cheap places before, the ones I know are gone but it is a city.
The only place I know that might be reasonably cheap in the centre is "the cracovia" hotel URL there are really cheap good quility places out side of Krakow.

they start at 99zl - that's only about £20

Yeah, 20 is bugger all when you are earning a near enough 6 quid an hour...when it's closer to 1.80 and you are still fighting with tax offices over getting a NIP number so I can actually even get paid then it's a bloody fortune!

Cardno85, what is your budget? and for how long.
If you are stuck I recommend getting a bus or tram out of the city, it will be cheaper probably about 50 Zloty for a fairly good place.

Well I need to keep money for a deposit and it would only be for a night or two. The problem being having to wait to get my NIP number before I can be paid...which means I am living on the little money I brought from home I have left. Going out of the city is a good enough option except that I still have work to go to and so getting home at 1 in the morning might be a struggle. I have a few flats to see tonight so hopefully I won't need a hostel...just looking for an emergency you know?

Ok, can you not ask your employers for a sub, just until you get sorted out?

I am gonna see what I can do. Hopefully one of these places tonight will herald something good. Then I don't need to worry. Get the deposit, get the NIP, get the wages...sorted and life goes on drunkenly and happy as before.

Just having a VERY stressed out day. Not helped out by the ex who is messing with my head sending me texts saying she wants to help me and sending me kisses and hugs, then when i ask her to actually do something she says she is too busy with work or just doesn't reply. Like I need that on top of everyting else.

Tuesday .......

Keep us informed it looks like an interesting week for you :) ha ha ha

If you do not mind me asking how much is rent and big's the flat?
OP Cardno85  31 | 971

Flat is 200m2 and i am in a 25m2 room. It's only 580 and that includes all bills.

Yeah, it's gonna be a fun week, especially if the flat folk don't pick me to move in, then I will be homeless in Krakow...which could be interesting.

Hopefully in an hour or two. I really am staying hopeful. Because the other option is being homeless in Krakow, which is not a great state of affairs.

Merged: Hotels in Krakow

Im visiting Krakow in May (21st - 25th), can anyone recommend a good but cheap-ish hotel thats not too far from the centre?

Probably flying from dublin with Aer Lingus, unless anyone knows another airline who flys from Belfast/Dublin.

thanks,

EasyJet flies to Krakow from Belfast. I am not so knowledgeable on good/cheapish hotels in Krakow, but maybe you would consider renting an apartment.

For example, krakow-apartments.biz
