hi there,

Does anyone know?? Do Polish people need visa (or any simmilar doc) to travel to Caribbean area? The info I get from internet and from tour operator are not consistent...

Any experience from your trips there to share? (probably thinking of Dominicana Republic)

Cheers

Poles do not need a visa, but at the airport have to buy the kind of a tourist card for 10 UDS, which entitles you to stay on the island. You cannot lose this card, you will need it when you leave. If it is lost, you will need to pay a few dollars. In addition, apply an additional $ 10 fee on exit. However, this does not apply to all passengers. Some carriers have signed an agreement with the Government's initiatives, so that their passengers are not required to pay additional fees.

Thanks a lot tygrys! This is a good message for me - I think I may start saving for my trip then:) Have you ever been to Caribbean?

Has anyone been to Carribean area during a peak of hurricane season?

Its spring break right now,the most expensive time of year.
During summer (hurricane season) prices are reduced probably by 50% not because of the fear of a hurricane, its warm up north and people tend to do things locally.

I been through hurricane Andrew back in 1992 when I lived in Florida,..not fun:(

Thanks sledz and sapphire.
I was thinking of traveling in end August/September - but hurrricanes and tropical rains about which I read put me off a bit. Well, I would not like to have my dream holiday spoiled by the weather, saying nothing about feeling safe...

I also read that some islands are much less likely to be hit by hurricanes, like Aruba, Curacao...
