If you are planning to visit Lazienski Park in Warsaw then watch out for the peacocks that roam around the gardens. They are vicious. Under no circumstances approach them whilst carrying a ham sandwich.

A raccoon coming at you in broad daylight? Are you sure it didn't have rabies? Did you report it to park athorities or the city animal authority?

We had one here like that recently (last August) and sure enough, it had rabies. They came and trapped it and I heard they tested it first to find out, then euthanized it.

It's a big problem in the US.

We don't have crazy peacocks, though. Not that I know of.

I LOVED the peacocks there!! Next time I visit though, I will have to bring such a sandwich, to test your theory :)

Hmm........ the lull before the storm. You must have caught them just after they had fed. Perhaps just after they stole my sandwich.:)

Note to avoid prosecution by the Polish Tourist Board. I think I might just have been unlucky

peacocks that roam around the gardens.

Yeah, but have you seen subway rats in NYC? That is scary picture. Grey, intelligent monsters.

Yeah, but have you seen subway rats in NYC?

James Herbert wasn't joking when he wrote "Rats" then !

Maybe James Herbert should write a book called "killer Peacocks" ...

Or "Revenge of the Rabid Raccoon"

We have very agressive ground squirrels, in a specific area, because tourists feed them and they have become habituated.

Unsuspecting persons, sitting and having a snack, can have squirrels practically jump in their lap in hopes of a nibble.

It's a bad thing because often children have been bitten on the hand. There are signs posted instructing the tourists to avoid feeding animals--it is punishable by a fine, but they don't care. So now the squirrels are a pesky problem. And some of them carry a plague-a type of bacterial infection, so if you are bitten, you have to go to the clinic and get a shot.

Keep the "wild" in wildlife! :)

One of those peacocks robbed and murdered my friend. The bastards then used his stolen money to fund a terrorist organization.
Something needs to be done.

Kaczynski was noted on several occasions to have been wearing a peacock suit before parlimentary discussions.
His extreme fascination with ham sandwiches is also a point of interest.

Hmm. This is news to me. Let's hope that he doesn't (or does) have a John Bonham moment then!

He doesn't eat the sandwiches, he believes the sandwiches are alien life forms which guide him in his day to day political decisions.

Do ham sandwiches speak Polish?

In Riverside, California it's the skunks we have to be careful of. Sometimes the two-legged ones as well!

Earthworms are now attacking people. You can't go for a walk in the woods safely anymore because they sit in trees and jump on your neck and choke you.

They got fed up for being used as bait.

Probably because they're only 17 and can't drink yet. They waited underground for so long and nobody will serve them.
