Peruvian in Poland. Do I get any benefits as a student?

HI I`m living in Poland 2 years ago, i study here, anyway now Poland is from Schengen and i would like to go to my country during the next summer and visit to my family and i was thinking to buy a plane ticket from madrid cause is cheaper and i thought i can go to Spain without problems but some friends told me is not possible.... i have a karta pobytu, every year i have to make a new one and before the summer i will get the new one anyway i would like to know if as a student resident from poland i get some benefits with this schengen stuff. like i can go to madrid and take a plane for go to Peru.

If you are flying from Poland to Peru via Spain you don't need Spanish visa, unless you are planning on staying in Spain for few days.

i get some benefits with this schengen stuff.

Since you are not a citizen of Poland I would imagine that you will not be able to travel freely throughout the EU with just a karta pobytu.

that's my thought too. peru is not part of Schengen or any other european deals.

But I think that once a person can legally live in one of Schengen countries then can also travel to other Schengen countries without any additional permissions.

It does not work this way in North America. You may have a legal right to live in Canada, but if you are not a Canadian citizen and want to travel to USA you need a visa.

Most likely its the same in Europe.
