Construction methods in Poland

Hi

Am buying a plot in Lodz to build a house on. Can anyone tell me what construction methods are used for one private builds? Here in the UK/Ireland I use the thin joint system by Cellcon, where the inner leaf wall is built first, and the outer wall later. What type of wall construction is used in Poland on private dwellings. Any advice welcome.

prestissimo,

Not everyone on the forum is a builder, but most know how a house is built.

Please, provide a link to the building method you use... and then we can compare and better advise.

Hi,

Thin joint system uses a glue rather than mortar to build the wall. It is a quick system.

I was more interested in the standard building methods used in Poland. What type of foundations are used, what type of external walls and insulation etc.

Given that Winter temperatures in Poland are much much lower than in Ireland or England the construction methods and requirements must be different.

Many thanks

The best person to answer your question is probably SeanBM. Please, wait till he comes on-line.

In the meantime: a block wall... insulation on the outside, provided by polystyrene (5cm)... then a coat of a coloured, cement based product.

I've never seen the method you describe, but it doesn't mean that it's not used.

Foundations are concrete.
