Polish Workers Abroad on BBC World

Monday 18th September.

If you have 'BBC World' they are running an article about Polish workers. It gives some insight into the job market in Poland and why young people are leaving for the UK.

It also talks about the mayor of Wroclaw who is on a campaign to bring Poles home.

Has anyone seen this yet. If so I'd like your comments.

I've seen it. ...
Well, some nice shots of Wrocław rynek!
As for commentary...they could mention Poland has opened its market for Ukrainians, Turkish, Russians to fill up the shortages on job market
BUT:
We are here for full enjoyment NOT full employment, right?:)

I found something on internet ( with nice picture of Wroclaw market) but it is dated from 02/08/?

What is it about Wroclaw? I think that I read about it in daily mail -while ago. they picture Wroclaw as empty town as everyone emigrated to Uk. is it so bad?

I got maybe obsessed after reading all these articles here so when I was last week in Krakow I started to look around but it is busy everywhere so I suppose not so many people moved away as they say.

Iwona,

This was a news story shown on TV today [Monday]. It didn't last long but it explained a lot.

It was about Polish workers moving to England.

The mayor of Wroclaw wants them back.

You don't want to know my opinion of [Dutkiewicz] the mayor.

Wroclaw bussines culture is rapidly developing ...some say...and they want to lure back people from abroad. Wroclaw city officials had even made some campaining in UK! I'm not sure how such propaganda could have any real results. The bottom line is hardly disputed. Young IT genius chooses UK over Poland because his wallet gets thicker there. It could be some type of regular bull made by Wroclaw mayor in times of forthcoming elections ( in october - I think)

Hey Wroclaw,
It's not the first time I'm posting my reply only to see yours is in front of mine already! LOL
