Poles and bogus marriage

Last week "Rzeczpospolita" published an article on bogus marriages in Poland. It seems that a quarter off all marriages with non EU foreigners are bogus and are done to obtain EU status. The going price is about US $5000.

Is this just sensationalism,or is is it true?Don't these people have to live in Poland for 2 years with no divorce to keep their status? The paper claims some of them take off/divorce after a few months and still keep their residency permits. How could that be?

youtube.com/watch?v=7YNiedDhsAs, here's to you, Chevalier :)

I wouldn't put it past some people, such is the desire to secure entry. So many fast ones are pulled these days.

Enjoy the video my friend. The Marx Brothers are great.

Well,it happens all over Europe and USA and Canada. It's hard to check ,when people come and go for residency purposes.Even in the UK,which is not apart of Schengen ,people manage to slip in and out undetected,so Poland is no exception.I gues nobody checks. The price is reasonable ...In the US it is around $20 000 average. But more people want to move there that to POland/EU

This is one of the reasons that I was always so against Britain being in the E.U and Poland joining too. This poor little island will drown in financial debt having to keep a grind stone like Poland for generations.
