The Polish Promotional Programme Foundation in co-operation with the University of Warsaw Faculty of Economic Sciences and AIESEC Polska Local Committee Warszawa SGH are currently preparing a series of reports on promoting Poland and especially its economy throughout the world. We would very much appreciate it if you would agree to take part in the project and express freely your opinion on Poland and Poles.

Foreign public opinion survey is an essential part of the reports-to-be. We would like to find out what your opinion on the attractiveness of Poland is, what the rate and level of development of our country as well as our strengths and weaknesses are like in your perception. We strongly believe that decision makers responsible for promoting Poland should be well informed as to the international community opinion on Poland and the Polish, on the ‘Polska’ (‘Poland’) brand value. It is through the reports that we would like to be of assistance in delivering such knowledge to them.

We will be profoundly grateful if you will consider filling in the questionnaire thus sharing your opinion with us. We would also be very much obliged if you would possibly inform your friends and colleagues of the questionnaire. The survey is totally anonymous and its results will serve only scientific and cognitive purposes. The form has been prepared in a comfortable user-friendly online version

On behalf of the project authors thank you very much for commitment and co-operation!

Since I havent been to Poland it was hard to answer some of the questions. But from what Ive heard there are alot of small things the people in Poland can do to improve their reputation, make more money and get a higher status...

Just beein more service minded will benefitt them greatly. This is ALWAYS a huge factor when it comes to how tourists view another country and its people. I have travelled to many different countries, and I must say that when the people living there (like when I went to Bulgaria) tries to screw you over to make a short term profit it is a very bad thing...

Last year there was many Norwegian tourists going to Bulgaria and the travell-agencies had a big promo campaigne for Bulgaria... But after many reports about people beeing robbed, beat up and screwed over they decided this year to cut back 80%(!!!) of the trips down there...

Things like these MUST be sorted out before you try to promote a place. I am NOT saying that these things happens everywhere in Poland, but from what Ive read on here there are several things that can be fixed just by people having a better attitued and try to give better service.

Exactly, that is the point. Before anyone can responsibly design any strategic solutions for promoting aims, we must get to know what the image of the country is and what is spoiling it. The cognitive aspects are of the same importance as the "real" - i.e. if a low quality of touristic services discourages people to visit a country. The more we can get from such surveys, the better we can prepare ourselves to make a good job in promoting the country abroad.

Thank a lot for filling the questionnaire!

Tkanks for your wishes, I hope we will observe a lot of interesting and useful campaignes... The problem is there is a long road from the research to any campaigne :)

Having just returned from a trip to Krakow, I must say what a beautiful, clean city it is and how much I enjoyed being there. The people were really helpful when I was out exploring on my own and I loved the ladies fashions in the shops - elegant and stylish. I didn't want to come back and am planning our next trip already. It's a very modern city with big shopping centres, plenty of parks and pretty walks and a good transport system. Brilliant stuff - St Mary's church especially moved me - it's beautiful inside and out. Plus the atmosphere was light and fun and we didn't experience any drunks or trouble at all.
