everything shows that Poland is going to sign the treaty for becoming part of Schengen.. to join the other 15 other countries. it will be very very good for you polish people because you will be free to go everywhere in these countries.

I think that we already have "opened" borders, I'm against zero control on the borders. Even UK is not in Schengen, so why should we ?

Obviously there are also negatives to it.

this was pulled off a website about it

Poland and Slovakia should join the Europe's passport-free Schengen zone in 2007, the two countries' prime ministers agreed during their meeting in Warsaw on Thursday, the PAP news agency reported.

The talks focused on a delay in the two countries' joining the Schengen border-free zone, originally planned for October 2007, but delayed until October 2008, as announced by EU commissioner for internal affairs and justice Franco Frattini, during a meeting of EU interior ministers in Luxembourg on Thursday.

not alot is actually mentioned about it to be honest when googled!

well, we're are already partially passport-free, I don't know about trips to UK, but you can travel on the continent with only your ID card, I guess it's not a big problem. But I travel by car, not sure if I'd need a passport for a flight. And border crossing isn't that slow either, you just show your ID/passport, and off you go, it takes 1-2 minutes in most cases
