A large amount of ancient gold was found in the area around Sroda Slaska, near wroclaw. Some of it 'disappeared' the rest ended up on special display in the local museum.

There is said to be gold in the streams around Ksiaz Castle, about an hour out of Wroclaw. Part of this is due to historical myth related to the castle and partly due to German occupation.

Definitely sounds like a place to see. As far as search engines go google does not know all. For instance, gold has been found in a stream near me and it is only know by a few old timers The location I have yet to discover. There is always someone that knows some small piece of information that no search engine will ever have. Osiol is a good example. It is the secrets that are amongst us that make life most intrigueing.

And this is one reason why no-one will tell you the best place, if there is one, to pan for gold.

There is still some gold found in streams araoun Złotoria town south-west from Wroclaw.
They even have there some festival of gold-searchers with competition in washing gold...
Gold was found also in many other places in Sudety, which you can find by looking at the names of the places (Złoty-, Złoto-,).

Im damn sure i have black gold on my land in the form of truffles, ive been doing a bit of digging and trying to train the dog but hes useless. We have a wild boar digging up the land all over the place hes probably eaten about £10k's worth by now.

That's why they use pigs for locating these fungi.
Ask some hunter to 'take care of the competition' first :)

I should keep away from them if I was you, as I am just proofing a scientific report that says there are still particularly high levels of radiocaesium in some mushrooms from your area, after the Chernobyl nuclear accident.

In Poland, the most contaminated areas are the Kluczbork vicinity (Opole Region) and some parts of the Kłodzko Valley (Wrocław Region).
These mushrooms are being eaten by wild boar, and they are conducting research to find the levels in these animals because the meat is exported.

So far the meat is borderline, with most of it at acceptable levels; however, they do find the occasional one that is way over acceptable levels.

Yes, of course, in the small quaint town of zlotoryja.pl. They even have an annual gold panning championship there. I once stayed in Złotoryja as a tourist in a hostel before I bought my own property in Poland. Very nice town!

There are a few places of interest and museums around Zlotoryja which have to do with mining gold (the region is sometimes referred to as Kotlina Klodzka).

An interesting detail they told us in a gold mine museum was that the miners practiced a peculiar kind of competition - they ate arsenic.

It turns out arsenic usually accompanies gold deposits so miners in the old times, having no breathing protection of any kind, had been exposed to it in the form of molecules they breathed in with air. Eventually they acquired various degrees of tolerance to arsenic so they could actually swallow small quantities without being poisoned to death. Small by their standards but many times more that it would take to kill any of us. The usual quantity of arsenic the competitors ate was about the size of a large table spoon. This quantity would be probably enough to kill all active and some inactive members of PF ;)
