Nothing compares to a Dorade Royale, cooked to perfection with a drizzle of extra virgin 0live oil, parsley, thyme and rosemary sprigs

Don't try to insult my culinary skills. I named some fish, you start talking about recipes. If you want recipes, I'll flatten you with my cookbook with no problem.

No taste! Come back when you've grown up.

I care less what was practiced in the past.

but the past shows things can get fishy with or without EU.

If you wanted to proof that bureaucracy in communist Poland was much smaller, indeed this is true, statistics don't lie.

show me the stats then

If you wanted to proof that commies wasted less taxpayer money on the same cause then indeed this is true.

I'm not sure what you tried to say here.

I like spending weekend in my country house gathering mushrooms,

Yeah I envy you there. I don't have a dacha or anything. I like the concept of it.

americans may eat their french fries, burgers, donuts... They should be very hungry. :)

lol, yes they're often hungry. Thai food is pretty bad, you may as well eat out of an aquarium. However, Chinese.. good stuff.

Anyway to further shock you I'll list some plants Russians have eaten (especially in villages in hungry times when one still needs vitamines having nothing but a little bread and water): dandelion (there's also a jam made out of it), bittercress, wormwood, cow-parsnip, nettle (this one I've tried and find it tasty in spring when it's young), oxalis

Interesting.. you guys are resourceful, no one can say you aren't. Someday I think we'll have to borrow a page out of your book actually. Of course, in the military I had a Vietnamese friend (saved from Pol Pot) who ate grasshoppers regularly. No worries ;-D

I know that Russian VDV (airborne troops) are taught how to cook and eat grasshoppers. It's said they're food rich in calories and healthy. I don't know... for me it's something chinise...

I hear you, definitely Oriental stuff there. This guy cooks nothing though, legs kicking in his mouth etc. It's no wonder we lost to them.

Hey, what does that pike taste like? You mean this fish here right?

I think these ads are great. Why would anyone not like them?? Do you people want to look like 1/3 of the US population??? Eat your fish! Eat your veggies! :)

Some woman here in UK went on this 2.5 litres of water a day diet just to end up being brain damaged, she collapsed cos it flushed out minerals from her body or something.

Drinking 2.5 litres of water per day is normal. I easily drink at least that much (mind you i'm quite active). Maybe you're thinking of 2.5 gallons? This is how much a women drank on a radio show in california without urinating - she died.

Well guess what, too much water is very bad for you.

True. Too much of anything is bad for you.

Some woman here in UK went on this 2.5 litres of water a day diet just to end up being brain damaged

2.5 liters?
Urban myth.
2.7 is an average daily requirement published by the US government agencies.
2.5 liters of water a day is about the minimum for a woman who weighs 100 puonds (45 kg), does not exercise and lives in a cool climate.

she collapsed cos it flushed out minerals from her body or something.

The conditon is called hyperhydration and it flushes no vitamins or minerals. It disturbs the balance of electrolytes. The same condition may occur if a person drinks too little water.

When drinking water, hyperhydration may occur when a person drinks in excess of 8 liters of water in a matter of minutes. The same 8 liters spread over an entire day will cause no adverse effects in an otherwise healthy adult. OK, maybe one adverse effect. But beer causes that too and it is no secret that many drink way more than 2.5 liters of beer (mostly water) in an evening.

I used to eat more fish until I got my first cat. Since then I'll have only fried fillets, and not very often. To me fish = cat food. My cats agree.

but the past shows things can get fishy with or without EU.

I really don't want to replace euro-socialism for communism. :)

show me the stats then

Read this article, author refers to original sources (Roczniki). I will just add that when Prodi was a chief of EU-Commission he said that Poland need to employ 100k more bureaucrats. Also Polish institute of Adam Smith published some time ago some report (?) that we have four time more bureaucrats than in 1989. (I cannot find it now) What is interesting I found Jaruzelski website with his speech where he claim that we have three times more bureaucrats than in 1989 and those additional are parasites. Apparently we need Jaruzelski back :)

I'm not sure what you tried to say here.

Paper is much cheaper than intensive TV and radio adverts.

A cookbook-hoof combination (grilled Dover sole, cooked with a thin pasting of butter, salt, a twist of lemon and some fresh basil, served with a spinach and feta salad with a light drizzling of olive oil and hoof right where it hurts - in the kitchen).

That's great news. Four times more jobs in the sector than before!

I found Jaruzelski website with his speech where he claim that we have three times more bureaucrats than in 1989 and those additional are parasites.

Jaruzelski made a lot of speeches. I wouldn't put much weight on what he has to say. This particular parasite is history.

Paper is much cheaper than intensive TV and radio adverts.

No difference in PRL.
The point is that fishy stuff was there before EU and therefore nagging against EU based on some fishy stories is funny. A lot of nagging against it can be justified without resorting to the same stinky food that commies advertised as fgood for you.

Btw. even though I do not eat a lot of fish, it is in fact good for you, whether there are 4 times as many bureaucrats or not.

That's great news. Four times more jobs in the sector than before!

Four times more people trying to justify their usefulness to save posts. To achieve this goal they need to create more and more regulations which create obstacles and difficulties for the rest of the society. While the latter group is much bigger then I would rather think how many of them is unemployed. Because of bureaucratic dirty job plenty of people cannot "spread their wings", plenty of them is unemployed and plenty of them work in the 'grey zone'. All of them are cheated by bureaucrat invented pension system. The number of jobs hold by bureaucrats mean nothing in comparison with problems that this small group create for the rest.

Beside of that additional job are positive for the society only if such job is useful , bureaucrats are not only not useful but an opposite. If the government would hold 100k of blacksmiths employed in public sector then those people would not be useful either. They would receive some wages but they could not be pain on the ass of the rest of the society. Thus if 100k of bureaucrats would be fired and 100k of blacksmiths would be employed instead then this would be great improvement.

Jaruzelski made a lot of speeches. I wouldn't put much weight on what he has to say. This particular parasite is history.

I disagree with him on the issue of martial law, however this is not a secret that from economical point of view the last 'communist' government was much better than every 'democratic' later.

No difference in PRL.

Don't you understand that I'm against both communism and euro-socialism? If they made the same stupidities, this does not matter. This should be finally stopped. Well, honestly I cannot recall such propaganda campaign after 1989 (for sure nothing on this scale). This is Brussels influence that cause this comeback.

I personally have nothing against fish. This is socialist policy that I oppose, because it lead the society to retardation. Politicians try to make people depend from them, their advises while advices may easily turn into orders or at least action in prevention (the EU banning imports of some certain food). All of this together targeting our pockets while advantages are none. I don't need the government telling me what I should eat and drink. This is trivial issue, however this illustrate the logic behind actions of the ruling establishment. They can easily switch their 'help' to other part of out life.

It is not so easy to compare these things as in PRL vast majority of economy was owned by the state and many people working in state owned companies were doing things, which should be done by administracion but obviously there are too many people working in the administration and their number is growing.

No.It is not the same condition.Too much water leads to hyponatremia and brain herniation.Too few water leads to hypernatremia and pontine myelinolysis.Anyway.

Schizophrenics may drink too much water(it is called water poisoning).

True my statement was not precise. All these conditions are caused by electrolytes disturbances. Just like in hyperhydration, even though the actual chemical and physical processes may be different, and they may be slight difference in symptoms.

Bottom line, neither too much water nor too little is good.
