What is an acceptable dating age range in Poland?

I'm 38 and my (sometime) GF is 20. In the US I would get funny looks for dating someone much younger than myself. Am I right in saying that it's perfectly fine in Poland? No one in Warsaw seems to take notice. Is this the norm?

Warsaw is always more forward than the rest of Poland.

Maybe he is, but a guy who looks good for his age with a young attractive women isn't really going to attract any attention - an old crusty looking bloke might.

Good for you chick, age is but a number :)

hmmmmm, so what do you think about this?:
"An 82-year-old English businessman is looking to meet a nice Polish lady aged 18-25 for a LONG-TERM relationship. Must look good in a string. Please e-mail: for.....@yahoo"

I have come across this in "The Krakow" newspaper.

hahahahahaahahahha, how stupid is that, i hope none of the Polish girls fall for that sort of rubbish!!!!!

Say what you like about younger/older relationships, personally i don't know much about success to failure in this area.

There is a guy that I know aged 43 who currently has a relationship with a 21yr old. It has been going on for about a year. Why do women choose men of that age I do not know. I know a few early 20 yr olds that go with 35-40odd yr old men. If a 21 yr old guy was to have a relationship with a 38-40odd yr old woman it would be considered gross!

Believe me mate, when I reach 38-40 I'll still be flirting with 20yr olds...!

Have you thought about the future? Could you still see you two together in say 10yrs or so? He'll be 50 odd and you still a young 30 odd yr old with all them hunky English men to choose from! O.O

my mate who is 22 is going out with a 35yr old guy. fair enough it's not THAT much of an age gap but that guy is certainly far from being a hot looking 35yr old. he's a scruff and a slob, always wearing filthy clothes and threatening other guys not to talk to her cos he gets really jealous. they are about to move miles and miles away, just the 2 of them... im kinda worried but there is nothing i can do, they seem happy. he's a weirdo...

i've never been out with a guy who was more than 5 yrs older than me. i look quite young and always get id'd, if i had an older bloke i'd be getting funny looks lol.

seen a couple like that at the post office today, thought it was a mother with her teenage son (both blonde, similar looks), but then he started cuddling her and i knew it wasn't his mom ha ha.

Send her my way then :P There are probably no decent looking men where you live O.O

Seriously though, what is the attraction to older men? They're going to pop their clogs in about 10yrs time which is no time at all. Is it money? Experience? Maturity? Security? Or do women just like old fogies? O.O

if you don't have a problem why pay attention to people? Unless you have a problem with the age differance. LOL

What are the chances of anyone finding someone exactly the same age? I mean exactly.

As in the same birth date or just the year? If it's the year then it's not really difficult.

From all couples with a huge age gap I've seen so far I may pick out three crucial groups:
1) It's all about the money
2) MILFs (generally I mean some people intentionally prefer older partners.
3) She's or (rarely) he's not so cute and can't find anything better as only to date "father" or "mother".

Well I am 46 and my wife is 28 and we have been married for seven years now and we have a six-year-old daughter.
I am trying to fit our marriage into one of the reasons quoted in the post; it's not about money as she earns more than me, and the only one that I can associate with is that we love each other dearly and just naturally click together.

I had a great life in London working for a very successful insurance company, and I was just not interested in getting married as I was having too much fun.

Then I met my wife and all that changes because you know that you can never be apart from each other, so you never know what is round the corner and to all the single guys, be careful love is out there and lurking for you lol

Right that's enough of the Mills and Boon :O)

i have noticed that people i know who at the moment are dating an older man/woman, always seem to go for someone much older, it's like a pattern. that mate i mentioned was in a relationship with a 40yr old guy before and after that she was single for years cos guys her age were never good enough for her. she didn't actually say 'guys my age are rubbish, i prefer them older', but all the nice blokes she dated, blokes in their 20s, always had something 'wrong' with them that nobody else could see, she complained they didn't pay enough attention to her, weren't there for her etc., so i am just guessing that older guys give her this sense of security and obviously as they are much older they appreciate her young body more haha. i dunno, but i dont think i'd ever date someone who's my dad's age, it's just odd and couples like that always get funny stares. don't think my folks would be very happy about me dating an older bloke either, and everybody would think that i'm only with him for the money...

i know another guy who goes for older women with kids. he's about my age maybe a bit older, and he married this 30-something mother of 2 when he was 19. that didn't work out so he went for another single mother 10 yrs older than him. he had a few flings with young girls but he always ended up dumping them for no obvious reason. the older women he dated would be the ones to do the dumping tho! i've seen him with a new lady recently, i don't think she's much older, but she's got kids of her own.. haha. what is it with some people? it must have something to do with their childhood...

Well I am 46 and my wife is 28

Go the boy :)

I've dated guys who were much younger, never been a problem - I think 12 years younger is the largest gap ;-) There is no particular reason I prefer men slightly younger than me, they seem to be attracted to me and I seem to be attracted to them...funny old world isn't!

This age difference thing always reminds me of the scene from Friends....

Joey: Oh, well think of it like this, when you're 90...
Ross: I know, when I'm 90 she'll be like 80 and it won't seem like such a big difference.
Joey: No, that's not what I was going to say at all. No, what I was going to say is when you're 90 you'll still have the memory of what it was like to be with a 20-year-old.

I wouldn't worry so much. Age is just a number, you're both consenting adults so what anyone else thinks about it is their problem.

A girl I work with is 25/26 (can't remember for sure) and she is with a guy in his late forties, they have been married a couple of years and are expecting their first child at the start of next year.

I feel sick reading this thread....

Why? Because you feel you must date someone your own age? What if all the people you date your age don't interest you or have similar likes to you?

The next time a guy offers to buy me a drink I'm going to ask him his age and if it's not the same as mine I'll have to refuse...not! :)

PolskaDoll, she is only 17 by all accounts and you imagine when you were her age, anyone who was above 25 was a dinosaur lol
And saying, "I feel sick reading this thread" is only a testament to her age :)
