It's kinda like p!ssing in the middle of a city square.

No it's not. Someone who will do that in the middle of a city square will bother everyone who's present, giving them no choice. I think that's quite contrary to someone who makes music for a certain audience, because he or she isn't necessarily bothering everyone with what he or she does, except maybe the ones who choose to listen.

:)

Hope you like it :)

I like this kind of music, and to be honest, you've done a good job. (Despite the poor quality!)

B)

A-J (Remembers talking to Lady Sovereign on 2SG occasionally, and is now wondering if M-G will be the next person who will make a name for himself!)

So what exactly is wrong about rap? Not rhyming, not simple arranging. Probably coming from black people?

Well, if I take a good look at the postings from the people who constantly try to bash rap on here, or even try to compare all the negatives from Gangsta Rap to Hip-Hop, I think you might be right?

The poor quality is just because YouTube does something to it and Windows MovieMaker compresses the sh*t...But thanks! I'm glad you like it :)

I prefer Patti Smith, you barbarian... ;)

I paid 75 Euros in copyrights :)
She got a copy of it and I got an email back from her saying she kinda liked it :)

That's cool. I met her last year after a free concert she gave in Portland, Oregon. Very nice lady.

I know, but you should be able to compress it yourself with a better program, and upload it in HQ? (They've added that option recently!) Oh, I forgot, the amount of graphics you add also matters. (You don't want to exceed the maximum file size!)

Not being a slimer or anything, I really like your tune. I usually prefer my bass a bit deeper, and my beats a bit harder, but this is good music! Keep it up!

Patti Smith is a heroin of mine...When I was a teenager, I used to listen to her all the time; as for meeting her, well, I lived in NL, with no money, so it was kinda hard to ever meet her. But who knows, once I become a big rockstar :)) I will get to meet her. Would love to... But I'm doing my best...I hope you like my rendition of "We 3".

Arien

I will check tomorrow, because I don't know if everything arrived allright, but if it is, I will post a link to my last.fm page, where you can download the album where this tune is on and also my previous album. You will get them in HQ then. Thanks for the compliment. The download is for free, only thing I ask in return is that you promote my cr*p with your friends...Nothing more.

>^..^<

M-G (is kinda touched by the nice responce to his music as it's always a bit of a nervous thing to go public with something you created yourself)

I'll just post another video, this time with a sample of Nina Simone. A bit different than my previous posted tune, but I think it's a nice once :)

Again, hope you like it :)

>^..^<

M-G (go on, kill me with your critisism)

This is the last one I will post...I personally think that this is one of my best songs...Sorry about the terrible quality. Tomorrow I will post a link to my last.fm page, where you can download the album on which this tune and the other three are on. Better quality :)

I think this is one of my best ones :)

Well, Art is always subjective. Cant say that I loved it. Cant say that I hated it either. My musical taste is different. I can certainly appreciate the time, effort, and craftmanship that went into them :) I also appreciate your courage to throw yourself to the sharks here! Thanks.

Here's another sample of rap. Just ad some words (for some reason they call it lyrics).
Yup, that's all there is to it.

Instead the majority of so-called music they sing is pure crap, with vulgar lyrics.

Yeah I know. The sad thing is blacks used to produce some really cool music. Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Chuck Barry, Sam and Dave, Ray Charles.. on and on, legends basically.

What do we have now? Clowns crowing about how much money they have, how many people "they done shot", or "how many b.itches they done smacked". Pathetic. However, I think Sledz is right, rap will be extinct here pretty soon. It's run it's course.

I liked "Ride With You" the best. It's nice to hear music that's pleasant and soothing. I dislike hearing lyrics using profane language, spoken in every other word. The male voice in your song reminds me of some Native American artists, that I've heard in the past.

WHAT DO YOUNG POLES SEE IN RAP CRAP?

Simple, this horrible music, was developed in the rough-lawless layer of American society. And pole guys, being all macho-wannabees identify themselves with it, they think they become tougher by listening to this crap.

What do young Poles see in rap crap?

I don't know but I hope there will be a cure for this in our time.

"For once I would like to hear you scream in pain."
- "Play some rap music." - Bruce Willis in the Last Boy Scout.

You are deeply wrong, you probably never listened to any polish rap song and even if you did how can you generalise, there's so many genres. I don't listen to hip hop myself, but I know people who do and who are nothing like what you said here.

The thuggish genre you mentioned here is only one of many - associated mostly with football hooligans there nothing here in connection with american society.. Some "rappers/hiphoppers" however you call them in their songs comment on politics or history, and it's not all f-bomb here and there... how can people generalise so much when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I don't listen to hip hop by myself nowadays but I've got enough courtesy to not comment on things I have no completely knowledge of..

Some rappers are a bad example, does this make every rapper a bad example? Some women are criminals, does this make every women a criminal? Some supporters are hooligans, does this make every supporter a hooligan? Some men are abusive, does this make every man abusive?

;)

I don't know but I hope there will be a cure for this in our time.

Ignore all prejudice and give these youths a chance to develop themselves, and you'll see that their music will eventually reflect this. It's not the music that is the problem, it's the people who make music about their problems, frustration, or even anger. They weren't born bad you know. They just didn't have the opportunities most of you had, and if this attitude in society keeps up they will never have, or stand a chance..

;)

Do you know what it's like to be young and know that you don't have a future? Do you know what it's like to have to watch people who aren't even satisfied with all the things you could only dream of? Do you know what it's like to get stared at like you carry the plague? Do you know what it's like to be avoided, when all you have is good intentions, and all you want is a chance?

Do you know what it's like to get robbed when you already have next to nothing? Do you know how it feels to have a gun in your face? Do you know what it feels like to be treated like you're expendable trash?

:)

I don't think so.

Okay, Polish Rap and R&B is MUCH better than American! They actually have talent in making that music listenable.

Hm, I cannot understand what he is on about, so I only listened to the music and besides the vocal sample(s) they use I don't think this has the essence of rap - sure they rap, but the music lacks the typical atmosphere rap has, but that could be just me. Compare this sample from 1993 from the legendary Dutch rap-ensemble "Osdorp Posse". I don't expect you to understand what he is rapping about, but just listen to the samples they use and compare the atmosphere in it. Hint: he is rapping to all the fake rappers you had at the time, as they themselves were the first to start rapping in Dutch. The good thing is that he literally translates terms American rappers use into Dutch. ;)

>^..^<

M-G (used to like "Nederhop" - term for rap and hip hop from the Netherlands)

I think that this thread lost its way,,
What i meant with my first comment is that this music BEGAN in this kind of environment. It has evolve to become ridiculous (Eminem,50 cent, etc etc) with lyrics which talk about getting laid, about pimps, hos, partying, getting rich and bling bling, so for me that is just crap...

Lets not go off topic, this thread is about young poles loving this crap.

Again you have no idea what you're talking about. In Poland Hip Hop music originated from punk and metal, examples: Kazik and Kult, Kaliber 44, Wzgórze Ya-Pa-3. You're a waste of time mvefa, go be a troll somewhere else.

Most music never manages to maintain the classic status of its original, groundbreaking tracks. I bought my first "rap" record in 1983, that's 26 years ago... I still listen to oldskool tunes (up to about 1991, in my case) occasionally, and as I have no intention of deleting the 700GB of music I've collected over the past 25 years, I'm sure I'll still listen to it occasionally in 14 years time.

Again you have no idea what you're talking about. In Poland Hip Hop music originated from punk and metal, examples: Kazik and Kult, Kaliber 44, Wzgórze Ya-Pa-3.

I think he was talking about the origins of hip-hop in the USA, and can't understand why Poles like it, but I see your point.

Takes me back to the Bronx vs. Queensbridge beef back in the 1980s, this does, lol :D

Most of my tunes are actually like "Ride With You", will post some more in due time.

You'll make more $$$$$ if you call it "Ride Wit' U", lol
