Is there a "Polish Soul" or only Russians can claim a slavic soul?

What is your opinion?Usually in the West slavic soul is connected to Russians, as the big soul,generous,spontaneous,rich,able for the best and the worst,certainly very peculiar and unique in western eyes.Does a similar soul exist in Poland,since it is generally described as slavic soul?

In my opinion,yes.

I'll let the Russians claim the "Slavic soul" as I couldn't care less about another stereotyped view of Poland and Poles (be it positive or negative).

I think Polish people have a slavic soul. I'm an american, but I can remember growing up and being distinctly drawn to slavic music and art without understanding what made it different from normal western culture. Polish culture has more western influence than Russian culture, but it is still slavic.

I agree that Poles have a slavic soul.I felt that instantly.Ukrainians may accuse them that they are touch and not sensitive but in Poland you feel really good, which means that slavic soul is definetely present.

Its often the second generation immigrants of any nationality who get all sentimental and misty eyed when they think about 'the motherland' and all it entails. Indigenous people tend to have little time for all that 'poetry in the soul' bollox.

Just because the Russians say they have it, that doesn't mean Poles have to as well.
Judging by the number of responses so far, I imagine this isn't something Poles really think about.

Apparently there was quite a good tax wangle you could do by buying those Russian souls, but despite the efforts of a rather unpleasant Swiss bloke and a revolution or two, that opportunity is as dead as the souls in question.


People are strangely drawn to all kinds of things, often but not always connected with their personal prehistory. I used to be strangely drawn to art students.
