Why are all these threads usually about how great the posters country is in comparison to "your" country?

That is Eastern European mentality to present themselves better that another Eastern European nation
Pols and Lithuainas fighting for top positions in that trend
Lithuainas think the are more western that Poland
Pols think the are more western that Washington DC

Although there might be some truth to what you say.
I am also referring to the other nations that post on here.
It just seems that quite a lot of people seem to boost themselves up by putting down others.
The truth on the other hand is that no country is perfect and we should be critical.
I worry when there are no corruption scandals in the papers, it means they are getting away with it.
As for politeness, I would worry more about the way people from different nations on here treat each other.

I think Plywood made a good point above. The Poles tend to see the Western label as a positive one but that isn't the whole truth, far from it.

Sorry, I disagree with the thread title but I think more Poles would do themselves a favour here by promoting their hospitality industry. Many polite individuals there.

Regarding the hospitality industry? One of the biggest flaws of the Poles, and many other nations, is that they don't sell their trump cards well enough. Poland's hospitality industry could be a major boom industry with the right level of care and attention.

Poles are from Central Europe. You may indeed be having problems with Eastern Europeans ie Rumanians, Bulgarians (even then they are probably gypsies anyway)
