There's only one game that would prompt me to by a video game console and thats gears of war. But I heard there might be some issues with Xbox live here. Anyone got any any info?

Should work. I've got a friend in Katowice who plays on a regular basis.
Gears of War is awsome. Number II's coming this fall.

I believe you get the first month for free.
Then it's about 8$/a month depending on your subscription (silver, gold etc..)
But I'm not 100% sure. I've got PS3 :)

Depends on where your credit card is from. I live in Krakow, but I pay for xbox live with an American card. I don't think it's setup to use a Polish card. However at Empik you can buy the prepaid xbox live cards. They tend to be more expensive then paying by card though.

Video game give you a false sense of accomplishment! The time they are good is when you get paid big bucks to produce or build them because you sucker in kids who are Amotivational and steal their parents $! =P
My son has xbox live and it's $50. per year. I have PS3 and it's free for live.

extreme cases aside, game playing is a hobby, so there's no false sense of accomplishment, its a legitimately good feeling to kick ass at your hobbies.

No way, You mean I didn't just win the war with Tom Clancy?
I noticed that my first person shooter skills translate well to Paintball..

Yes except the fat lazy nerd who is 44 years old and working at walmart will kick ur ass at Xbox! Videogames winners are usually the losers in life! My ex roomate in the dorms last year played Xbox and WOW for upwards of 17 hours a day! My roomate even used to make $ off playing it at tournaments or watever u call them! he even sold his gold on ebay! It's a joke!
yeah like i said, extreme cases aside...
Tornado2007, if its sitting there doing nothing - why not sell it? I'm looking to buy one second hand...
