always thought it would be cool to take a ride in a tornado.

Yeah, you should definitely give that a go, PP.

The latest one is upon us. It's as stuffy as hell, breathing is awkward.

It looks like it. It feels like it. It RAINS like it ... but nothing yet in Warsaw.

breathing is awkward.

Sounds like you may be asthmatic ? I'm not sure thunderstorms should make your breathing awkward unless you have respiratory problems ?

We had bad thunderstorms here yesterday and two days before that as well.

Our road got flooded in the evening after we had enjoyed 23 C in the afternoon, with very hot sunny weather.

Mad world LOL.

:)

Perhaps a little. A Japanese doctor said I was and a Scottish doctor said I wasn't.

Yeah, I love the way Continental Europe gets wonderfully strong thunderstorms. In Ireland, thunderstorms are not very common at all and rather tame and short-lived when they do occur. In the past, I've experienced some great thunderstorms in France, Switzerland and also once in Berlin. Having said that, I remember a really bad and prolonged one in Dublin in the late 80's. It began at 11pm on a Friday night and was still going on at 10 a.m. the following day. It was really stormy and it was accompanied by very large hailstones. I remember my dad woke us kids up to watch the crazy lightning and deafening thunder when it became severe at 1 a.m. and we stayed up till 3 a.m. Was such a treat then! :)

I am coming to Poland for a holiday in about a week's time. I was hoping to do it in Winter to see the grey couldy skies, and snow (I live in West Australia, and I happen to be tired of blue skies and sunny days), but now, hearing about these furious thunderstorms, I'm pretty excited for that!

I'm going to be staying mostly in Szczecin; being close to the ocean, could I expect milder, or stronger, storms?

Yesterday it was bingo here in Warsaw. I was on my way back from work to home, when in Ozarów Mazowiecki all clouds turned black and all the next 30 minutes I drove like through a waterfall. Impressive :)

Oh this sounds so exciting I just adore storms! I'm visiting Poland for the first time in August so now I'm hoping Mother Nature has something put aside for me...that would be magic...

I just hope I don't happen to be walking in the 'mountaynes'..... =-)
