Hi, looking for a few ideas - what present would you like to get given that would remind you of poland and is hard to get here?

Thanks

Gift certificate or cash is a universal present. What do you mean by "here" - the US?

Hi Snap,

If you are in the US, here are a couple of places. I bought my mother-in-law and wife some presents from these sites for Christmas. Some items on these websites are touristy junk, but there are some nice items..

I'd love to receive a saber, a big jar of ogorkie, a wall plaque with the Polish eagle on it, or a t shirt that says ".... me, I'm Polish!"

A Polish hooker?

Polish sheep dog.

Hand made glass chess set that they seem to have at every Polish festival I go to.

Wooden plates that you hang on your wall. (old school)

Some sort of figure/statue of the Holy Mother that every Polish household seems to have.

What about a T-shirt that says on the front "Got any Polish in you" and on the reverse says "Want any?" Hehe

Barnes and Noble and Borders would have some books like that. They don't have books in the Polish language but they'll help you order them.

which is hard to get and even harder to make

We shall see about that. My dad is a graphic designer. He's done t shirts for his clients before. Hhhmm...

What about "Sit on me - I'm a Pole!" or, for the buffed Polish gentlemen "I'm a rock hard Pole" - the possibilities are almost limitless

On the subjects of t-shirts, dad used to wear a "solidarnosc" t shirt a lot in the early 80's. This would be a guift I wouldnt mind receiving - I liked it

This might be a good thread for Poles at Xmas time, thinking of loved ones both at home and abroad.
