then the money you send is not worth as much as it was before.

Your not saying Witek that the money is not worth sending now because of the low dollar,

the time to buy property in Poland was in the early 1990's.

Agreed, there are still a few crumbs left on the table worth going for!

A few years back the USD = approx 4 zl , today it is 2.75 zl

if you sent $2000 before = $8000 zl

today that $2000 = $ 5500

also before prices were cheaper in Poland

as Poland's economy improves and wages and standard of living improve then real-estate prices will continue to rise.

what will real-estate prices be in 20 years in Gdansk or Warsaw?

the answer is a lot higher.

But how is it possible that the prices will be "a lot higher" since now they are as high as in the US?? How do the real estate prices reflect the economy?

Unless Poland will be another Luxemburg, which I doubt.

What are you trying to say, one could respond by saying what will be real estate prices in New York, London, Sydney in 20 years time?

The truth of the matter is that Real Estate is out of reach for the most Polish people living in Poland, I doubt if Polish people living in other countries will drop what they are doing and be on the next flight to Poland to secure a investment property bargain, remember there are many ways to skin a cat, Real Estate is a good form of investment at the moment, as the investment cycle moves on lets await the next flavor of the month, who nows it may be the stock exchange. This means that the last person buying a real estate property will be left carrying the bag!

I'm very sure sure the smart business person is now making his money elsewhere>

if your ROI (Return on Investment) is higher then in U.S.A. or Canada or Australia then why not?

Poles now invest in Russia and the Ukraine

i don't believe that prices in Poland are equal to U.S.A yet. However prices in HOT places like Sopot are out of this world.

there are a number of things in Poland that are more expensive then in U.S.A

1. jeans
2. shoes
3. cars
4. jackets
5. gas/petrol
6.computers
7. tents
8. ovens
9.shavers
