moving to Poland, and importing my car

I will be moving from the Netherlands to Poland in March, and I would like to bring my car with me. I already figured out what I need to do in the Netherlands to export my car, but I have no idea what I need to do in Poland. Can somebody tell me what documents I would need to bring from the Netherlands, what Polish documents I need, and what offices I need to visit.

Currently I am not registered in Poland, so I assume I have to get that sorted out first.

I did exactly the same thing but with a motorbike from the UK. The procedure is the same. If you previously owned it and used it whilst living in your previous country then you don't pay tax. You just have to write a declaration that this is the case. All the details including costs and time taken here: britishinpoland.com/blog/2008/02/importing-a-motorbike/

Thanks, very helpful reading your experience!!

I was prepared for a bit of bureaucracy, but it seems like I have to reserve more time for this ordeal than expected...

Now comes the tricky part: probably I will be registered about 200 KM from where I will live... Something to do with landlords not allowing to register at the rented flat, and me having to register at my girlfriends parents house... Do I have to go to all the government offices in the city I am registered in, or can I take care of this in the city where I actually live?

that is a scam. They aren't allowed to do that. Probably they don't want anything official to show they are renting it out to avoid declaring the rental income.

Yes, this will all be done based on where your zameldowanie (registration) is.
