Its not my country yet , only when i get citizenship in like two years time ur Polish u shud be cleaning up bro.

Why not get together with some teachers of some schools and voice that this is
not the way we want out children to live, it would stand out more if children are
making a difference, then maybe the older ones who are spitting and or just
throwing things on the ground, or not taking care of their litter will see the examples
these children are setting forth which is should be the adults doing it, but hey,
if it has to be children they learn from, it isnt such a bad thing, sometimes we can
learn from our younger generations to be a better person..

have these schools gather for a clean our earth day, and walk to those areas which are the most littered and clear it away :)

just a friendly suggestion. we do it here in America, I think its great idea.. and
these children will probably be featured in a newspaper which might just get
those litterbugs attention..

I often see park District employees (I think, that's who they are) walking in the Forest Preserve picking up trash. There are lots of garbage cans everywhere, but some piggies prefer to throw it on the ground instead of walking extra 100 yards to a garbage can. Also, I see people picking trash on the sides of expressways and all other roads. Generally, I find the cities clean. Especially downtown. Also, depends in what neighborhood. Suburbs are spotless and i love it.

Patrycja is right. Schools are taking the kids for clean out your neighborhood days. You need to start from children, not only cleaning but manners as well.(spitting)

Me too. I get out the hose and clean my own part of my street.
sometimes when its windy, the garbage from someone elses house ends
up in my front yard, but easy fix,, its nature that did it. so I cant really get mad :)

We have this here. To be honest it is the last thing I want my kids doing. The local council should be cleaning up. Better still, those who drop litter and are caught should do it. If it were treated as offence then we might see progress. There are other problems. Bins are not emptied as often as they might be and a lot of litter in the mountains comes from foreign tourists. To preserve the natural beauty of mountain areas, there are no litter bins in some places..

In Wroclaw, which I think is a clean city, the problem of litter seems to be getting worse even though in some places there seems to be a bin every twenty-five metres.

We somehow have to control the modern lifestyle.

I know what you are saying, but, as kids, it teaches them that this is not the way
we want our city, our state.. some might see, others will not and will grow up
to be those very litterbugs who just dont care.

nothing wrong with putting on some gloves and working in the dirt..
its a soap and water fix.. and some self satisfaction that you actually did something
good for the community, and with little help from the news papers, could
publish something that says, " We can learn from our children" heading!

Yes the local council should be doing it, but while they are not its getting worse.
those who drop it should be punished, but is there enough officers around to
actually ticket these litterbugs? and if the kids initiated it, wouldnt it be ironic
that the city or state decide to actually act on it and pass some sort of law that
does require those to get ticketed for it.

I dont know if this is always been the process there, but here if you get caught
its a hefty fine here..

I just asked around. There is a fine here. No-one [I know] has any idea what it is.

Poland is a lot cleaner than NY and NJ. I was amazed by the lack of gum and rubbish in the streets. We have our prisoners and people serving community service and we can't even keep the sides of our roads clean. I was quite impressed with Poland. I'm sure some areas lack cleanliness, but overall it's a lot better.

I think Poland is fairly clean. The only thing IMO that makes Poland seem dirty is the roads/sidewalks/buildings in desperate need of repair/restoration. This is especially striking when going from the clean/new rynek (wroclaw) to some of the surrounding residential neighbourhoods where the streets look like WW2 ended yesterday.

True.

There are many old buildings here with WWII bullet holes in the brickwork. They are slowly being repaired.
