Buying US car, Living in Poland

Hello, [Witam wszystkich]

It is my first post and I'm happy that I have found this forum not only because of my question.

Q:
I'm a co-owner of the US-based company but I live in Poland. Car prices in Poland are much higher than in US and I have an idea that my US company purchase a car in US and transfer it to Poland. I will use it in Poland keeping US registrations. Will it work?

Does anyone know about facts that makes this brilliant idea ;-) a stupid one?

Any advise appreciated before I start to ask lawyers.

Regards,
Marek

Why can't the company pay the difference. Then you can get a new car tomorrow.
After all, you do own the company.

It is my company and I want to save company's (and indirectly mine) money. It is a lot of money so I consider this option as well the others.

If you do get a car in Poland and you take it back to the States. Make sure that it fits the legal requirerments. Sometimes the specifications on certain models are different.

An obvious point, but easy to overlook.

Unless you have a special permit to bring the vehicle to Poland unmodified (i.e., Diplomatic or military waiver) your US spec vehicle will fail the technical inspection. This will require you to replace, headlights, tail lights, add rear fog light and possibly replace the windshield and bumpers. These modifications will cost several thousand dollars and this will need to be reversed when you take the vehicle back to the US.

Will you be able to insure it in the US? I'm having trouble finding a Polish insurer for my UK-registered car so check it out.

WARTA insures cars in Poland with foreign registrations.

Wroclaw & w/Bydgoszcz - thank you very much for your hints. Taking car back to the States makes the deal worthless, I think.
