Hi, Does anyone know any good online websites where you can buy CD's from Poland? In particularly I'm looking to buy the Taniec Wampirów music.

Cheers

Can I bring American DVD's to Poland? Will they play?

Is there a symbol that I should look for?

Thanks

Theoreticly this can be a problem, cose the US is in a different zone. In practice you`d just have to buy a multiregion DVD player.. or give your DVD player to a company that would modify it.. ..or after downloading a programe that would unlock the regional blockade you can watch DVDs on your PC for free.

Do you think that I can bring a portable DVD player and just use a euro adapter? Would the TV recognize the player?

BTW thanks for your help.

I don't know what city you live, but if you live in Chicago or NY you can go to a Polish store and buy one of these magazines that include a Dvd with a Polish movie (the magazine + dvd costs about $5) and if it plays, it will play because they import the magazines directly from Poland so the Dvd's are recorded in the "Polish system".

I have no idea (I don`t know how an euro-adapter for a DVD player looks like) - but I don`t think that a Tv can recognize the regional code (well perhaps some of the newest plasma tv`s can)- the Tv is just the display and it recives the video-signal from the DVD as if it would recive the same way signal from a camera or any other device.

Poland so the Dvd's are recorded in the "Polish system".

Yes - and Polish DVD can be played in most cases all over the world without any problem. But I`m affraid that it`s not the case with most American DVDs :)

They make an adapter for our "plugs" to regulate the the voltage so that we dont blow up our American electronics :)

It depends on the Tv-set. I`m not sure if you`d need also need this:

fiechol1.webpark.pl

most Tvs in Poland have a this kind of video, audio plugs

(I asume this that this is being used in the US)

but some have the Euro-plug

and some have those 2 kinds of plugs.

So - it depends from the tv-set.

But hey - you can try bringing your DVD here and see if it works.

Nice. We use the same a/v plugs. I guess I'll just try.
