I have a jar full of coins, mostly 20gr or less. Are there any banks in Warsaw that will give you pln notes for them?

Of course they "should", but what banks should do and what they actually do are two different things, be prepared for verbal abuse to outright insults...

Can't you get the little coin bags and sort it out and then take it?

give it to homeless people. It will save you some time on making the rolls (it takes forever) unless you are a teacher and have your students help you with them.

Good luck.

It would be easier to get rid of it at a local shop (5-10zl at a time). Or maybe a post office.

Do banks in Poland deal in small-change ? I've never seen it happen.

I actually did that a couple of years back. My pile of insignificant change was getting so big, it was a bit of an eyesore in my bedroom, so, on a whim, I put it all in a plastic bag, walked out the door and gave it to the first homeless person to approach me. Many will probably castigate me for enabling an alcoholic, but it gave him a little lift in his life and it gave me one too.

Polish shops are always short on change, I suggest taking the change to the nearby store and asking the cashier to change it.

Why don`t you throw them into a fountain located in a town/city you would like to return to? A jar of coins will significantly enhance your chances of coming there back... :):):)

How about this fountain?
