50 Most Popluar Girl Name in Poland

Wow, I see my original, pre-adoption name on that list. I always thought it was Hungarian rather than Polish spelling. That means I originally had a Polish first name and Hungarian surname. Pretty wild - I didn't know.

Hungarian rather than Polish spelling

sz in Hungarian sounds like the Polish s
s in Hungarian sounds like the Polish ś

or something like that.

Is this just about nice names for girls in Polish? On an English language forum about Polish stuff, it's quite likely someone looking for a name might want one that could be easily read and pronounced by a Hungari... I mean an English speaker. I'd recommend numbers 1, 2, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18 , 20, 22, 23, 25, 36, 38... just for ease of pronunciation. I wouldn't recommend calling a newborn Barbara in this day and age in an English speaking country.

i personally like natalia, anna (ania), danuta and matylda. . although i would like to know the diminutive form of this name as my hubby doesnt know and we both have it as a fave for if we have a daughter.

as for guys names, it gets harder, theres not too many i like at all, both polish and english...

what about Anna ?? ... thats true that the biggest amount of polish females got it but i think that it became a bit forgotten ...as not many people are giving that name any more... so shame cause in so many different ways you can call the girl called Anna- the possibilities are following: Ania, Anusia, Aneczka, Anka... and soem modiffications like those niunia, ana, ..

i do not know why but i just simply like that on e:P ... but everybody has its own preferences.. all polish names are nice and its is not the name which make some person nice.. cause we usualy like some name cause it remainds us about someone with whom we got good memmories:)
