OP Shelley 15 Aug 2006 / #61Hummm speedos, where can I start!....there is no fashion faux par that a woman could ever commit that could rival the speedo!I hope it`s not me..noIt`s not my fault that you`re being wrong.not in this case Im not...anyway Im off now, my work is done!
Wujek_Dobra_Rada 15 Aug 2006 / #62Well, if he likes it then that his thing. I wouldn`t wear this, but if he likes it then I can not say anything bad about it.noI`m relievednot in this case Im not...anyway Im off now, my work is done!I ubderstand that this means that you see yourself wrong, but you hate to admit it directly :)
OP Shelley 18 Aug 2006 / #63I ubderstand that this means that you see yourself wrong, but you hate to admit it directlyI will admit when I'm wrong, but in this case I know I am right!I`m relievedDont be so facetious
Wujek_Dobra_Rada 18 Aug 2006 / #64I will admit when I'm wrong, but in this case I know I am right! So you want to say that Polish men don`t have any idea about fashion ?
OP Shelley 18 Aug 2006 / #65I personally think they are a little behind the times and are a bit boring how they dress, I'm not saying that they should all start wearing high fashion skinny jeans and white shoes (shudder the thought - I dont like that look on english blokes - the words fashion and victim spring to mind and emphasise on word the victim). the point I was initially making was that they could do with a bit of smartening up, like I said even when I went in to nice bars and clubs they were a little lacking in style - whilst the bouncers looked smart in suites - the clientel was lacking! No to mention long socks with trainers!
missingfromheaven 20 Aug 2006 / #67Shelley you are so right about British men and their lack of hairstyle!I was in Spain a couple of months ago, with a male friend who lives there. We sat on the beachfront around 10pm and he said to me, as the men walk along, see if you can guess what nationality they are.I picked out all the British men. My friend asked me how I knew.Simple - shaven heads!European men seem to keep SOME hair and keep it nicely. Spanish and Italian men keep a lot of hair and have it neatly cut and wavy. Our British men leave a lot to be desired!
OP Shelley 21 Aug 2006 / #68Our British men leave a lot to be desired!I was talking about Polish men and fashion - and I prefer a guy with a crew cut to a mop of badly styled hair!I don`t think so. You can not improve something that is perfect..Oh right, now that was funny...it was that amusing I wouldnt even have said it was agrogant.
ozz 28 Aug 2006 / #71I was just browsing the Polish newspaper online and realized that Polish girls do dig men from India/Turkey/Pakistan. Here is one of a Polish models:
rafik 18 | 589 28 Aug 2006 / #72if you want you can place a pictureof a pig in this newspaper but will anybody go for it?
OP Shelley 29 Aug 2006 / #74if you want you can place a pictureof a pig in this newspaper but will anybody go for it?This is very true!Men in white, not really my thing - whilst I like to see a guy in a pair of nicely fitting jeans with a shirt I like a guy in a suite too - it all depends on where you're going -The point I was making was that i thought that the guys in Krakow were dressed a little boring - and that nobody made an effort of an evening....I think the guy in white in the pic looks gay - what kind of paper were you looking in!
iwona 12 | 542 29 Aug 2006 / #75You are right but I hope it will change in a few years. Maybe we need more magazines with men fashion???I can be wrong but i think that polish men like to be a little macho and don't bother about clothes .....
Amathyst 19 | 2,702 3 Jul 2007 / #76Polish men like to be a little macho and don't bother about clothesI rather liked this one too...so back to the top in goes :)
Del boy 20 | 254 3 Jul 2007 / #77I wouldn't say poles wearing crap and have lack of style. As far as I know every nation has poor and prosperous people, some nations are richer than another.Question is difficult to answer, some say economic background, turbulent history etc etc.
littlebeezz 2 | 20 4 Jul 2007 / #78i have to admit when me and the other half are driving about in the car we play spot the polak. very easy.......... tracksuit with waist band pulled up to chest level, bottoms of said tracksuit tucked into white socks and sporting white dirty trainers.i am not alone in this my friends up the polish centre told me about this game some months ago.ps my friend lukas is extremaly fashionableppswhy is it that every 3rd shop in poland is a womans shoe shop, it play havock with my brain.Off to poland next week and half of my suit case is delegated to SHOOOOOOESyippeeeeeee
Puzzler 9 | 1,088 4 Jul 2007 / #79Hmmm, I like Britain and the Brits, but I honestly think that they don't dress as nicely as people in Poland. Of European nations, I also like the way the Swedes dress.
Eurola 4 | 1,902 4 Jul 2007 / #80I have to say that people in Poland "overdress". I feel so under dressed in my jeans and T-shirts, when I visit my family. Even, when we go for a stroll in the park, my nieces are wearing high hills and dressy clothes, and here I am, wearing gym shoes...
Matyjasz 2 | 1,544 4 Jul 2007 / #81I don't know, I like the way brits dress, especially women. :) As for the spot the polak game, I could do the same with English chavs. They stand out from a crowd in the same way polish "dresiarze" do. And for those not informed, a dresiarz could be considered a polish equivalent of a chav. Both types are equally annoying... they just differ in clothing. And now if you would excuse me, I’m going out to a fancy restaurant and I still have to pair socks to my new fashionable “Jesus sandals”. Byebye. :)
Puzzler 9 | 1,088 4 Jul 2007 / #82re: "overdress"- I must admit I haven't noticed that. It seems to me the Poles dress the way it fits them, just as it fits some to wear T-shirts and jeans. And yes, they care about clothing.Hm, if you feel 'under dressed' (sic), why not try to dress just right or even 'overdress'?:)PS. Of course, there are folks in Poland who dress badly.
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 4 Jul 2007 / #83my close polish friends have impacable style... just not the same as mine... one of them has the cheek to call me M&S man but he's gay so nobody takes any notice of him...maty makes a fair point
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 4 Jul 2007 / #85i did and replied thats its a pity but no worries - did admin delete it?
ukinpoland 5 | 338 4 Jul 2007 / #86Yeah he did. He must have done it because you saw it. Anyway Im trying to talk these friends of mine into visiting sopot. She said that they are going on a tour of europe and want to be here for a while so Sopot is a place they should visit.Anyway sorry for the short notice.
Eurola 4 | 1,902 4 Jul 2007 / #87why not try to dress just right or even 'overdress'?I do...just for special occasions.. I want to be comfortable, when I travel. I would take with me the fanciest dress I could find and afford, if i were going to let's say a wedding. I have to wear conservative clothes at work, so any chance I get, I roam around in comfortable clothes. I love them. No pink rollers in my hair when grocery shopping though... :)
BubbaWoo 33 | 3,506 4 Jul 2007 / #88dont worry for short notice - i was looking forward to meeting - hope to see you and friends up here later in the summerI want to be comfortablefrom my perception this seems to be a key criteria for dressing for many americans... fair play to them... if you can get away with it, why not...?
ukinpoland 5 | 338 4 Jul 2007 / #89i was looking forward to meetingme 2. I will definately try my hardest to get them up there. Would be nice to see another guy when they are here. All 3 of them are female my mates girlfriends. Great. lol
