Just an update, I should be starting there the 22nd of september, up to now things are okay, manager notice period at current job, also notice for the apartment I'm in now, so now the only thing I need to do left is look for a place in Krakow, so I'm pretty excited, just wanted to share that!

Poland, here I come! :-)

Hi dxx I am on your way to krakow. What is your first impression about krakow?

How much do you spend food, rent, other expenses?

I am planning to arrive in krakow in November and I would like to find apartment or roommate upfront, can you advice how did you find yours?

Best Regards.

- Do I need to register it to Polish plates?
- If yes, howlong can I drive with my Belgian plates?
- Do I have to insure it in Poland?
- Howmuch are insurances in Poland (1.9 TDI engine)

- It's not that you need to, but you should.
- 6 months
- From the very first day that you drive with green plates from Belgium. Or if you wait to be in Poland to formalize it, do it when your insurance is over to renew it all (plates and get a polish insurance). Remember that if your belgium insurance finds out that you have moved permantly, they may not cover you as that's out of their scope.

- Cannot help you here

Hold on, if Poland is part of the E.U, then why should he need to change his plates?

to pay polish taxes for having a car in Poland. If he doesn't, of course he can still use it paying Belgium taxes, but he is only supposed to be in that situation for 6 months. How do they measure this time? I don't think they can, but that's what the law says.

First impression is very good, nightlife is great here, people are nice, girls beautiful :)

Food is not that expensive, everyday life is quite cheap here, u can get a very good lunch for about 10 euro, u can also have one for 3 or 4 euro, depending on what you like!

I found my apartment on gumtree.pl, try to rent from a private person, since the agencies charge you a lot for nothing!

Good luck and see u in Krakow!

Hello dxx,

I am also looking into moving to krakow. Are there at this moment options for a Dutch speaking finance educated university graduate (with a couple of months experience) with IBM in krakow? From all the companies hiring Dutch speaking finance people, IBM seems to be the best choice.

Please send me an email if possible. Thanks!
