Is this at the Dluga office?

Are the losses from certain nationalities?

What are they saying you can do while they sort it out? Must you leave?

It is quite possible that the cards will be sold oversea for a profit. Maybe they can have the photographs ect changed on the Black Market? Another disadvantage in having Poland in the E.U. We simply inherit more of Eastern Europe's 'problems'.

Yes it is in Dluga office. And also loss of different nationalities. I dont need to leave PL as I am married here in Poland, And can you immagen What a Perfect answer one lady in that department gave me that, You are married here in Poland so what for you are in hurry........... My God she is not able to think if Police can stop me during driving, What I ll show them .... I have international licence not polish, so means direct to police station. So means if you are married in Poland so just Relax you dont need any legal documents, Am surprise on there thoughts.

After millions of calls I manage to reach head of the department and she was not able to belive on it fact, finally they told that it lost in Post...................... I will mention name of post also it is IN POST ..... And I would like to add more that what a perfect way of working this department have, that they send decission for new card under protection of Police which was one simple paper, and when they have to send proper document i mean CARD they send by IN POST... everything is out of mind.

Well Mr. Michal, you are 100% right, some one from the department Made super money.

I tried my best and manage to reach TVN and they hightlight this news just few housr b4 but in shot and soft way,

Anyway hope for the best. I will be happy if some one can tell me about some department who can help me.

Am typing this cuz am so upset on them and i just wanted to share with other.

Good luck...the whole process is corrupt. They have some aspiring businessmen (mafia probably) controlling the queues and charging people for places (if you don't pay for one of the front spots you might not be seen that day due to the large number of people...if you are a non EU citizen anyway) People are routinely waiting in the cold for 4 hours and they still have to organize themselves after all those who have paid for places and held them for their 10 friends who come at the last minute. THEN if you are lucky enough to get a low enough number for that day you still will wait most of the day to be seen. If you are NOT seen you have to start it all over the next day....even if your number was next. Even the USA and UK with their nutty immigration policies would never have such stupid, criminal queue systems where people stand in the cold for half the night and have to pay for spots.

They charge 340zl (about 100 Euros) or so total just to TAKE the application...and they don't approve them all so that is a lot of money in the bank. Not to mention you have to pay that each time you apply.

Now they are losing permits...

You are not alone Oxide...every expat that has dealt with Dluga feels your pain. Unfortunately we can't do anything about it...if we want to bother staying here we are at their mercy.

But I must be imagining everything above because Poland is such a modern, efficient and open country!

Well there is a bit of a Political game between Poland and the USA. The USA gives Poland loads of money and aid, pays for their soldiers to be in Iraq, and praises their loyalty yet won't let Poles into the USA without a visa like many western EU countries (which I think is wrong...fair is fair). Poles have to jump through a lot of hoops for a USA visa.

Thus...Poles are not exactly 'helpful' when it comes to yanks living here. and the rules are not applied consistently. For example UK citizens are supposed to register here but most don't and they are not hassled. Every time I leave and enter I am scrutinized and it is clearly retaliation for how Poles are bothered entering the USA.

I am not happy with the USA's immigration policies either but Poland definitely has some issues that need addressing.

I am sure it is even worse here if you are not white or European.

If you wouldn't mind letting me know who this 'top person' is and how to reach them I would appreciate it...I need to let them know about the people taking over the queues and charging people for places...it's a bit mad out there.

Thanks and good luck to you as well.

Hi jone and oxide,

I read the mesg you shared above and I totally agree with both of you that whats happening in długa is unimaginable :) bye the way I am also foreigner and beside this non-european and not white, so you can understand quite well how does things happen when you are not from eu or not white :)

As far as standing in que is concern then plz contact the dluga office on phone and fix an appointment. it doesnt take much to fix it. I did the same as I have to reapply for my card in this month. so couple of weeks ago I just called them and fixed an appointment. they gave me date and time. so I dont have to stand in que everytime without knowing wheather that day Iwould be able to submit my application or not :) so I would suggest both of you to call them up and fix an appointment.

As far as showing the work of dluga to rest of the people then I ve heard that tvn has special department who looks for such kind of stories. so perhaps we can all contact them inorder to change something. In my openion its useless to contact higer authorities in dluga as they all know whats the situation is but still they are sitting just hand in hand without doing nothing. So its better just not to contact them.

Good luck oxide for your application :)

That is interesting Jawbaw...when I have spoken to them (in person AND by phone) more than one person told me you cannot make an appointment and you HAVE to queue and take a number. Imagine that...conflicting information in Poland :) I would say of all the things I try to get info about here...only 10-20% ends up being correct in any business or service. I have gone many a time to an office/shop where I was guaranteed they had a service or product I needed....only to arrive and have them deny it and then be sent to another place that normally doesn't have it as well...it is pretty typical in Poland. I never ask for directions here because you rarely get sent to the right place...it is like rather than saying they don't know they feel they have to say something.

Personally I'd rather just go...but it is more convenient for us to be here a bit longer so I will suffer through it. Plus I need to stay just to get under Harry's skin :)

Can you tell me what number you are calling and who you are speaking to to get the appointment? Maybe it is a different section than I have dealt with.

Well jones the number which I have its just for submitting the application for TRC the nos is: 226956761 or 226956764. Try your luck maybe it will work :) for me it worked and now I have an appointment confirmed together with the time :) so I dont have to stand in que in such cold weather :)

As far as asking other general info about anything then my experience is bit different. Whenever I asked for the way or any information I use to get straight forward answer i.e. rather they would say I'm sorry I dont know or wouldnt say anything and will walk away :) To my luck I've never faced any bad experience :)

Hi Jabwaw & jones ...

Well I am registered in RADOM which is 120 Km far from Warsaw, So we have department also in Radom, But the interesting thing is that, this department is only allowed to receive the applications and deliver your decission or Cards, So here in my City there is even Zero Q also only few foreigners are in my city,

I never have experience in warsaw department, But now as I come to know that cards are lost in POST, So I start efforts myself to find out cuz my local department was not able to do anything, Anyway I just came back from Warsaw and I manage to dicuss my matter with that boss of that department as no one was going to belive that CARD lost in Post, Anyway they moved there Ass, and Gave me a letter with the details of my Card. And if they will not manage to find out within few days so they will print it new and issue, in there computer Data my card was sent to RADOM at 24-Dec 2007. anyways almost I manage.

Only i will tell which I find out, You have to be confident and able to fight for your right, for sure will be something positive.

Concerning Q well as I come to know there is no such other way ppl have to wait, also today I come to know that there are such persons who will sale you there Q number in 20 to 50 zloty....... Wat a business some one found. :)

Anyway I wish you all foreigners good luck,
Harry

The USA gives Poland loads of money and aid, pays for their soldiers to be in Iraq,

More rubbish and lies from jones.

In the past decade the USA has given the Polish armed forces grants worth $220 million. The total amount Poland has spent on the Iraq mission is $600 million. So you do not pay for the soldiers to be in Iraq. And the vast majority of that $220 million is given on the condition that it is returned to the USA, for example the $24 million spent by the Polish defence ministry on HMMWV (despite the fact that the US units allowed to choose their own equipment, Seals and Rangers, choose Land Rovers and the fact that the running costs are far higher for a HMMWV) and the $74.2 million for five second-hand C130 transport planes that, when parts and running costs are included, will actually cost more than buying brand new planes from Ukrainian producers.

Poland gets far far more money from the EU than it does from the USA.
