Rules for exporting bikes from Poland?

Hi everyone
I am a middle aged bike enthusiast from the UK. I travel to Poland twice a year to buy parts for my old East European bikes. I went to the Moto Weteran Bazar in Lodz last week. I would be interested to know of other bike shows in Poland.

Can anyone tell me what the rules are for exporting bikes from Poland. Last year my friend bought an old bike at the bike show and it was impounded at the Germany/Poland border.I would buy complete bikes but I don't want to get caught out by the rules.

Love Polish people but Polish drivers are terrible. Saw three good accidents on the way to Lodz and I was cut up dozens of times.

Why was it impounded? There is a free market so there would have to be a good reason - stolen?

hi tony,

there is a bike show in Wroclaw every year also, not sure when, but summer time, will try and find out for you. The onlt reason i can see for it being impounded would be that they guy did not have the correct rego papers for it, or it was stolen.

I will bring my dog

A pet dog? He will just wag the tail at the thieves. You need a vicious country dog for them to rip their pants off on sight! :)

my dog is more then pet, he protects his mamma!

one time someone was trying to look into my house, and he stalked them
I didnt see them , but his hair on his back was standing high and thick, he was
in attack mode, and if the window wasnt the thick glass I swear he would have
went thru it at this guy.. I had to call him back and calm him..

Good for you. I walk my friend's dog in the woods for 4-6 miles...a couple of times a week, if anybody would ever approach me, the dog would just hide behind me... :)

I often "ask" him, are you a dog or a chicken? He surely is not a dog for protection....He is a pet.

well, certain "times" a dog will sense fear. or be territorial to which this could have
something to do with the stalk mode. or sensing danger.

you need to get a hold of the dog whisperer for your friend :)) LOL

dogs shouldnt be that scared!

Not really sure on that one , i have been living here for two years , and mine is still registered in UK...I am told by friends that as long as you have all the documents to say the bike is yours , then registering it with a Polish registration is not a big problem... Can i ask why you want to bring one all the way from the states to Poland..? Unless the bike is very rare , or very special , you would find it a whole lot cheaper to buy one over here...If the love of your life is a HARLEY . then don,t worry , there are plenty of dealers in Poland.....Tell me more...
