but in england people can survive on there income, in poland most struggle from week to week.

lef... many many people struggle from week to week in england... believe me... which is why so many of them are burdend with debt...

UK debt is double europe average

Total UK personal debt has exceeded £1 ¼ trillion and at the end of November 2006 it stood at £1,278bn. The growth rate increased to 10.4% for the previous 12 months which equates to an increase of ~ £111bn.

Source: creditaction.org.uk/debtstats.htm

I've notice that some food items in poland are more expensive than they are in oz. just a few things that come to mind is petrol/sugar and beer.

last time i was in poland - just before christmas - i worked out i could drink 12 beers there for the price of 4 here and smoke 100 cigarettes for the price of 20

they dont call it rip off britian for nothing... we have to pay them

I'm just stating my point of view

Carn't pay that one old boy, wages in GB are probally 10 more than in poland, and polish cigarettes, who in there right mind would smoke a polish cigarette sorry no offence, As a matter of interest cigarettes in oz as I suppose in the UK are heavily taxed (half goes directly to hospitals) a pkt of 30cigarettes cost about $9 approx 20zl

Still think Poland is great, interested in your opinions on real estate in poland

This site sometimes bores me with peoples ignorance. also this constant harping over the past, boring, dull. get over it.

Also people are constantly attaching countries policies over the last hundred years to individuals.

Here we go I don't care about the past because its done. I'm not too bothered about the long term future. I don't wanna save the world.

I do want to get as much money and property together so my future kids will have a better life than me. Simple.

I'm gambling on a better future in Poland, mabye I'll be wrong, who knows, and who ultimately really cares?

I'm gambling on a better future in Poland,

Such people like you (who have money and live most of the times abroad) jack up the prices of properties in Poland :). They invest with a short-term goals and quick gains. I understand it, but I'm sorry for those Poles who work their butts off to buy a property and then they will realize they are going to make 10% on it during a several-years period (and they hoped they would make 100% or so).

This statement should be stressed as it is a very valid and meaningful point. Common people and actions taken out by their governments shouldn't be mixed.

Here we go I don't care about the past because its done.

In this I don't believe you. The history of our countries has it's huge impact on our life’s, and after reading many of your posts I honestly don’t think that you have no interest in history and politics. But I do see why you could feel tired by some topics that seem to come back again from time to time. I have my opinion on this subject, but it’s too late to write anything about it. Maybe next time.

Oh....for sure we are cowards compared to others including Poland.

I admire the fact you're patriotic. I've spent a lot of time in Poland and there is one thing I'm sure about. We (the Brits) would be moaning a hell of a lot more if we'd had to put up with all that Poland have. We'd be banging on about it today, how tough things have been for us, how everyone abandoned us.

Poland and, in my view Polish people, need to do a lot now to make sure they keep going forwards. They tend to accept (and give) bad service far too easily. There are a great deal of opportunities for the smart ones. I actually believe the smart ones don't leave Poland. Starting a business, having a god business idea, is much easier in Poland right now. The problem in England is you have to ind a market that is not saturated already. I've seen some interesting and profitable businesses start in Poland, making an immediate profit based on a simple idea. that's almost impossible in the UK unless you're very very good or very lucky.

However, one thing Poles should not be criticised fot is the way they deal with their history. We would be so much worse. We'd be the world whinging champions if we'd it had all happened to us. :)

Actually if you had bothered to read my other posts you would know I'm actually moving to Poland this year. I'm leave the UK to go and live with my POLISH wife in Poland. So you therefore do not know what you are on about.

And as for you Ola, you are just an ignorant idiot and I would waste my breath on you.

Yes I'm sick of politics because we are all totally without a say in any of it. I wasted 3 years BA and 2 years MA studying political science....what a ******* waste of my time.

I should have studied to be a plumber or carpenter something of plausible use.

What are you on Giles? Im basically posting the same thing as you about properties prices and I agree overall but you should realise that Im trying to make jokes more often than not as well. Could you kindly explain me what do you want from me? Or should I start trolling your posts like you do with mine?

I'm tired a) those who constantly belittle Poland.
b) Those who constantly berate those who are investing in Poland.
c) The negative constant blame culture these threads become infested with.

This whole bloody site is in a constant debate over either, Race or Money. Both topics are constantly thrust in our faces just as they are thrust upon us in the outside world.; it becomes tiring. I'm just annoyed people are so constantly negative and individuals are put down for trying to do something with their miserable existences (like me).

You are forgiven, no one is complaining about people returning with there polish partners to start a new life in Poland, not an issue, its the multi nationals seeing Poland as an easy target to make money, short term gain which ends up being long term pain for Poland. There is a lot of institutions and private companies ready to snap up a cheap bargain in Poland and once that occurs its allegiance is not to Poland but to its shareholders.
