finT 12 | 167 16 Jan 2008 / #9Merged: Anyone know the name of this Polish movie?I've just been looking at the 'Must see movies' thread and remembered a Polish movie I saw in the early 80's about a jewish guy in the Warsaw ghetto just waiting for the Germans to come and take him away. The film was very cleverly made as not one German is seen in the movie, they are only heard marching, talking, shouting and the sounds of military vehicles going by outside the guy's window while he sits around waiting and contemplating what is going to happen. Doesn't sound too exciting but it really was an amazing, atmospheric film! I'm sure the word 'postcard' was in the title. Does anyone know what it was called and who made it. I reckon it was made in the mid-late 70's. Thanks.
Polson 5 | 1,768 16 Jan 2008 / #10I found a movie made in 1982 and called Postcards from Paris, but don't know if it's what you're looking for...I'm trying to know more about that movie ;)
finT 12 | 167 16 Jan 2008 / #11Nope, I just Googled that one and it's a made for television movie directed by Agnieszka Holland. I may be wrong about the word 'Postcard' in the title though
Polson 5 | 1,768 16 Jan 2008 / #12Don't you know any more information about that movie ? Actors, director...year... ?
finT 12 | 167 18 Apr 2008 / #13In case anyone is interested the film I was thinking about was on Polish TV last night! What a surprise....it is called 'Kartka z Podrozy' (Postcard from a Journey) directed by Waldemar Dziki 1983. Don't know how anyone could get hold of a copy but it really is a cracking movie.
