This link makes learning Polish fun. Good for checking you spelling too.
It might be a bit basic for more advanced learners.

I don't mean to be a spoil-sport,
but having to guess the phonetic spelling makes it really annoying.

NIE - A nice easy Polish word

NY-YEH - This is their rendering of its pronunciation

Is it a silent H at the end.
What is Y and what is I in their scheme.

It would be good if it wasn't for that.
Grrrr!

Are you So-fee-a

or

Sof-eye-ah?

I thought you did not like additional 'h' consonants in pronunciation guides? :P

Soaf-eye-a

Well that looks horrible! I hate when people mistake my name and say 'Sefire' - grr

I prefer

Soh-feeh-ah

though and those who actually listen to my request in life say this :) (very little - people know they can get away with too much with me!)
