News / Russia and Poland possibility of the alliance [75]

If overseas poles who`s dads immigrated in the 20-ies but still think of themselves as poles will not get a chance to vote then I am sure some kind of agreement between countries can be reached.

But if this people get chance to take part in the discussion - I am sure they'd rather die then co-operate with Russia. Go take a look at this forum's overseas poles.

Oh, and Kaczynsky, Tusk and their great team has to go as well, otherwise they will mess it all up.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Poles occupied Russia 400 years ago, Russia occupied Poland and all of eastern Europe 25 years ago, theirs is a difference..... Poland hasn't been a threat to Russia for 400 years and still Russia feels the need to be the agressor...

Please feel free to tell me the mistakes Poland has committed in the last 20 years.. I have tons for Russia....

Personally, I dont see any difference between 400 and 25 years old issues. They look damn same to me! Polish just try to forget about the old tensions, because if Russia starts to demand compansation and exuses for everything been done to it, majority of invaders will be deep in debts.

And I dont really see any major mistake done by either Russia or Poland. Some inner mistakes - maybe, but no global ones.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Poor Russia being invaded, are you serious.... majority of times Russia has been doing the invading... and not only invading but the slaughtering.... Russia has mostly if not always been the aggressor in its history and not the victim...

Of course!!! Russia invaved Lithuanians back in 1200-ies, Monglia around the same time, Poland in 1612, Sweden in 1690-ies, French in 1812, Turks in 1860-ies, Japan in 1905, German again in 1916 and 1945, Chekosclovakia in 1918...

as I recall I don't remember any other country orchestrating a cyber attack, threatening countries with nukes, using oil to control countries, poisoning its former agents on another countries soil.. etc.... shall I continue?

Other coutries dont threat others... They just DO it, yes?

Why do the Russians want to control the oil price without even being dependant or supporting west economy like the Saudis?

Thats what EVERY nation tries to do. The thing is, that for some it just simply doesnt word due to its size/GDP etc.

Agree.

Well, we kinda forced Nazis back into Germany in 1945, but again, it was only half of Poland supporting Soviets.

On a side note. If Russia wants to place some nukes aimed at Poland, I would support Poland building its own nukes pointing at Russia

If the humanity would follow the eye-for-eye principle we would all be blind(C)Gandhi

when I will see Russian NOKIA I will think more about you as world player ;)

I guess there are other Russian technologies you will become familiar with soon after the acceptance of the shield if you read the newssites ;)

What if Russia said that no Polish politician can travel to the US or any EU country or they will direct nuclear bombs at Poland.. According

I meant you build that base to defend yourself. I dont see anything wrong if Russia puts more missiles targeting Poland to protect herself too.

you forgot to deny the kremlin using oil as political tool....lol

I wasn't going to - I stated it as a fact.

Russia son't have potential, 140 mln people, uneducated, backward, poor, without technologies.

No intelligent polish person would be so pro Russia at a time the Kremlin is using gas as a political tool, issuing nuclear threats, orchestrating a cyber attack on estonia, etc....

The nuclear threat wasnt directed at Poland directly... They mentioned missiles, but only if you put the antimissile radar. its a counterstep, Poland has the ability of choosing first.

And cyber attacks orchestrated from Kremlin... I just cant imagine Putin and Medvedev sitting in Kremlin trying to hack *.ee sites... That was just a flashmob. Many people I know took part and noone is even indirectly connected with Kremlin.

History / Poland - Russia Russians ready for discussion about history ? [105]

Prince Charles

LOL

Are you joking? The city was renamed not in 2003, but after the stalin death....Well, it's a monsterous lack of knowledge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

I said, it was renamed in Stalingrad back in 1930-ies, but in 2003 the parliament hold an mockup voting on whether people want to call the city Stalingrad the same as before. Oh, and it was way before rehabilitation of Stlin, so yes, people wanted to live in the city which commemorates the victory over Nazis, not Stalin himself.

PS Well, its a monstrous lack of English ;)))

meaning?

Will do, Your Royal Highness (in bad Russian)

History / Poland - Russia Russians ready for discussion about history ? [105]

Yeah, like The Time said in the last 2007 issue:
Stalin visit Putin and tells him:
- If you want to live prosperous and troubless, kill all democrats and paint the Kremlin blue.
- Why blue? - wonders Putin.
- Aha! I knew you would not complain about the first part of the task.

Can somebody help me out, whats it called or look like?

Solovetskiy kamen

Carol,if you really think Stalin has been a Russian icon for years can you please explain why there is a city called Volgagrad?

There were many discussions to rename the city, people of the city welcome this idea, and 24 out of 25 people from the city's parliament were for renaming in 2003. It's former name is already restored on couple of war monuments.

I think you a just do not know, that there is a monument in the center of Moscow, just infront of KGB building, the monument ad honorem of all who had los their lives in Stalin's camps. Did you know this? I think no! Moreover, it stands on the place of the previous Dzerzhinsky's monument.

Not exactly, it is on the grass patch nearby, but you atill have got a valid point.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Paczka maybe you should improve your writing skills. What the hell are you talking about. Say it one more time a little more clearly

Right, here I go again. People from what used to be USSR see the entering of Soviet forces in to Poland as a liberation. Polish and the West see it as occupation. Hope it is clear enough.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Well, former Soviet Republics see it as a liberation, the rest of the world see it as occupation, so I personally think, it won't change much.

Matthias celinski can you read english? Did I say exUSSR citizens see communist ruls as liberation? No, I said they see 1930-ies events in Poland as liberation.

Say what, Stalin lied and said he was helping set up a free Poland. "Evil occupier" was none other than "Stalin" himself.

Again, as I said - it is you personal Polish view on that and I did not deny that you might have it :-/

God, why do people read the sentences backwards?

Food / Maślanka and Kefir, Serek śmietankowy and Śmetana - the difference? [18]

What is the difference between Maślanka and Kefir??? They both taste the same to me, though kefir is x2 more expensive.

Also, what is the difference between Serek śmietankowy and Śmetana? They too taste the same to me...

On another hand I probably wouldn't tell the difference between pork and beef, but I am just curious.

Yes you liberate by killing your own people. Great analysis.
Celinski and Isthatu said it best so no reason for me to add anything.
I guess the reason for this post is to express my laughter at your comment.

Poland wasn't in USSR back in 1940-ies, so fail! In that case Stalin did not kill his own people.

It was direct imposition Paczka, liberation actually frees u from sth, not strips u of it

Again, from Polish point of view Soviets killed polish nationalists. From Soviet point of view - they liberated Polish communists from evil occupants, so it makes sence - for both parties.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

firstly we need to show that we havent been liberated by Soviets (Russians) but occupated ... and that durring WWII Russians were German allies 39-41 ... and that Russians were the same murders as Germans

Well, former Soviet Republics see it as a liberation, the rest of the world see it as occupation, so I personally think, it won't change much.
