Isthatu has done my bidding for me, PLEASE read 'The Scottish Enlightenment' Wrocław boy, it'll show u that the Scots shaped the modern world. It has a whole chapter on how we excelled in America. England has done some good things, I've just forgotten what they are. Yeah, telly and vodka, what a nice combo.

There are clubs in places like Torry in Aberdeen to teach Poles the Doric dialect. That'd be hilarious, walking into a Torry bar and being asked by the Polish barman, 'fit ye fir, min?'. They are quite popular. I've heard that Poles don't want to integrate in Edinburgh that much, well, fair enough, but learning dialects is showing an effort to integrate. When I use Silesian dialect here, the students love it as it bridges gaps

Most of those Englishmen have Scottish ancestry. OK, Bell and Baird did some research elsewhere but they are still Scottish. At least we produce more graduates relative to the size of our country given that u guys charge high fees for Further Education. Why? Because u wanted to Scotland in the UK so u gave us a sweetener. Without our oil revenues, u'd be much less rich than u r now

Exactly, he was a Scot. Polski to trudny język/Polski jest trudnym językiem, ne? I don't want to get into attacks on the English as many of my friends are English. That's an English trait, trying to gloat about how they are better. They have their good things and we have ours, so what? It's pointless arguing as they know little of our accomplishments.

I didn't say they all had, I said most. I didn't say Scotland pays for England either, on the scale that u envisage. It's u guys that want to keep us more than we want to keep u. The Scottish Parliament (1999) was a sign that we wanted more autonomy and the SNP has grown in voice in recent years.

My girlfriend can spot a Pole easily too. When we were in Scotland, I had an inkling that person X was a Pole but she was dead sure. It can be their mannerisms but it's usually the dress sense.

It was a bit provocative but noimmigration obviously knows Glasgow. There are many BNP hardliners and my way or the highway types. I don't want to see that scenario come about but Glaswegians have a penchant for using knives and murders are not that uncommon. All it would take would be a drunken episode and, let's face it folks, we are talking about Scots and Poles

But the Poles have a responsible enough attitude to knives. In Kielce, Liroy (a hip hop singer) made scyzorek (like pen-knives or Swiss army knives) a focus of his rants but it was all jokey and light-hearted.

Good old Rab C Nesbitt. The Poles do like camouflage trousers for sure. They are cheap and actually look pretty cool. Polish women love wearing boots and tight jeans whereas most American girls prefer baggy pants. The jackets that Polish girls wear are almost instantly recognisable.

I agree with Greg, a lot of rhetoric but very few concrete proposals and how to effectuate them. I think Poland could benefit from a bit of privatisation, that's what countries like Britain have done with some aplomb. He specifically refers to Afghanistan and the need to support the cause. Well, the CIA created many of the warlords so why should Polish soldiers die in the repair effort? Hamid Karzai was installed quite a while ago now and is taking steps to create a more stable future for the country.

I think the mass immigration of Poles to England brought out the fervent nationalists from hibernation. People will react how they are going to react but I hope more people just don't follow like sheep and criticise the Poles because they are Poles. Judge them all differently and be fair. Don't hold them accountable for the failure of their govt to create suitable employment for them.

We have an agreement with Poland whereby a lot of medical treatment is free anyway. Before I came to Poland in 2004, I got what was called an EH222 form. I fell off my bike a year later and got free medical care for 3 days whilst in hospital. All I had to get was signatures. Who is saying that Poles are actually straining the NHS? By their own admission, Poles are hypochondriacs so what u say is at least plausible
