UK, Ireland / How do you get to Zachodnio-pomorskie from Scotland [19]

I hope this is spelled correctly, how to you get to Zachpomorskie, from Scotland. I imagine its a flight to Krakow or Warsaw and then travel by train/bus from there but can anyone give me more of a direction than that?

Thanks

Sounds good,

I'm travelling there to meet family in the summer, they don't speak english at all so the travel arrangements are proving a bit difficult at the moment.

It's actually my own family, well cousins of my family who are over here. I and my uncles got invited to go over and stay with them, have a few beers etc. Trouble is my uncles were all born over here, don't speak Polish, my grandparents have both passed way, so I'm busy trying to learn enough for when I go over.

As you can tell, its a big problem and not easy to do!

Thanks for the advice so far.

Travel / How much is a pint in Warsaw? [15]

Is there a polish version of Jack Daniels or is it widely available over there as it is in the UK?

I've only met one of them, Piotr, who travelled over to Glasgow, he doesn't speak any English, well at least not yet. Not sure if any of them do. I've written to Piotr as he doesn't have email etc, but not heard back from him yet.

Food / the best cure for hangover-the polish way ;) [76]

This is a scottish thing, irn-bru and a roll and sausage.

got to be a can of irn-bru, bottled tastes different because its glass/plastic whereas the iron/metal in the can changes the taste of the drink slightly.

The roll and sausage must have tomato ketchup or brown sauce on it, and possibly with onion.

Travel / Have you ever been in Poland? [111]

I would like to visit Poland one day to see where my family sprung from, but finances and other problems dictate that I can't for a while.

Looking to fly over in october sometime, can anyone point me in the direction of a good (cheap but not a fleapit) hotel in either Gdansk or Krakow, and does anyone from either city have any good idea of how much money spending a week there would cost?

Thanks folks
