Travel / WE ARE BACK FROM POLAND AND HERE IS OUR REPORT [96]

Thank you for posting this. :)
I am planning to travel to Poland next year, and I was wondering if someone would write a review of sorts, about visiting Poland.

Thank you, once again.
(I do have a few questions about traveling in Poland.)

That's a shame. That a woman mentioned to you, that Americans smile too-much. I smile quite commonly, every-day (a cheerful person and *up-beat* woman, by nature) so I'll do my best to have others do so in Poland. :)

Traveling is becoming more and more expensive. It's the ticket to fly over-there, that is one of the *kickers*

Travel / Is it safe to take a train in Poland? [35]

That is a good thing to know.
(So, just basically use your *common sense*) ;) and you should be just-fine?
As I was reading the comments/replies here, I wondered if I should use the train as a means of transportation in Poland.

I plan to travel to Poland, next fall. (2009) and I wanted to make sure, that I knew about this, and various others in information. :)

Love / Don't mess with Polish girls.. [14]

OMG. I wish I could do-that. O.O
(Even if it's not a well-made frying-pan)..

..It makes me wonder, how many frying-pans did she train-on to show this video?
(I'd hate to pay for the bill). ;)

Love / Are men more unhappy about being single than women [47]

Okay, I have read some of the topics about "what we all want" and it would appear that men are more unhappy about being single than women.

There are men and women, that are really-fussy.. (not easy-catches) which in ways, is not a bad-thing.
Since, we are all looking for a "Mr. or Miss-Right." ..I'm one of those people.

"Are men more unhappy about being single then women?"

-I think, It it just depends if you are the type of person, that is searching constantly.. and I think that love is a "funny" and unpredictable thing.. it will come to you in time.

(When the moment and chance or time is right). :)

"Romantics-at-heart" like-I, tend to always dream of that "One".. hoping to find him someday into the future. In my own opinion, there are allot of men that adore being single... including women.

It depends really, whether you are ready to commit or love being a free bachelor or bachelorette.. ;)

Language / I'M CONFUSED about PAWEL name [9]

I was wondering, Wojtek.
What does that mean?
(Also can Wojtek be used as a Name)... or is it just a word..?
I had seen someone from Poland, use it as a username once; and I looked it up.

Some-site, said it meant "Soldier" or in relation to the word "soldier"..

Some cultures like the Japanese, (which I am also studying on the side); use the names of people also as words.. In Poland, is this the same in ways?

Language / [Phrase of the Day]: English to Polish [37]

Przepraszam, zgubiłam się (Jashiwi has "Female" in her profile description)
however, instead of zgubiłam się, it's much better to say "zabłądziłam"

Oh, thank you! :)
I want to make sure, that I am properly speaking in Polish correctly.

So, just like other languages I have heard of; the wording and phrasing in sentence-structure; is a little varied between the way men and women speak..

In America, there really isn't much of a change in proper-edict / language from men to women..

I wonder-why men and women in America; are structured differently (of the sexes), in sentences from other countries..? ..Do you happen to know why?

You might as well merge my 'phrase of the day' thread onto this one. The same phrases are coming up on both threads.

Oh, I didn't see the other thread.
-Sorry about that, Wroclaw.

(If there was a way, that we could make a Topic: that if anyone posted a "translation from Polish to English / English to Polish" it would automatically pop-up a window asking / mentioning: "There is already a topic / thread under this category. Would you like to post your reply here?")

and it shows a list of threads in relation to your post/ reply. and by clicking "Yes" it would show you the topic, and post it for you.. or you could decide to post it on your own. and if you click "no." you may continue with what you where doing..

This is so then, others can see that others have already done.. and gives a reminder that we already have a topic closely related in discussion or has already been created..

This would or could also, stop all of these "dead-threads / unanswered posts replies"...that I have noticed, are growing in number..

In a way, I think it would make it easier to get rid of thread duplicates.. and make more selections and promote the users to create new threads.. that are different.

(and it would help both the member and administration of this forum.. Making it less frustrating and a headache for both). ;) XD

Language / [Phrase of the Day]: English to Polish [37]

Thank you, no1. *hugs* :)

-This is very-good. (Since, I am a beginner with learning Polish). :P
Any bit of help counts. *Thumbs-up*

Okay. :) How about this then:

"What time is it?"
"Do you need any help?"
"Where are you going?
"What is your name?"

Or:

"Say it again. I can't hear you clearly."

"I do not understand."
"Thank you for your time."
"Excuse me, I am lost.. Could you please help me with directions?"
"I am sorry."
"How much is this item?"

Food / SERNIK -- POLISH CHEESECAKE RECIPE [12]

That sounds really-good. ^^ *ThumbsUp*
