UK, Ireland / Polish Restaurant - Polski Kuchnia in the Greater Manchester area [48]
I went to the Polonia in Sheffield...awful!
Cheap stodgy low grade food and two of the party ended up with upset stomachs and severe sickness.
Shame really as it gave a bad impression to Polish food and I felt embarrased taking friends there.

Study / Staying with a Polish Family in Krakow to Learn English [6]
Which uni is it? (ignore just read the above message posted 1min before me)
I could do with brushing up on my vocab, which I have found to be a little short when visiting the relatives.

Life / Katowice: what do you think? [42]
I am in Katowice for the euro qualifier game on 17 Nov. Anyone recommend any good bars/clubs? Or even where not to go would just be as helpful.

I was there last month for a few days when going thru to Rybnik.
Looked okay to me, plenty of decent shops, centre was very busy, looked like a place on the up.

Real Estate / Building Land - Advice required [4]
I know countless questions get asked regarding land on this site, but I would appreciate any help regarding the following.
Upon recent visit I have been offered a parcel of building land close to where my relatives just outside Krakow. They seem to think it would be a straight forward purchase from their friend and again straight forward with the build process.
I was hoping if anyone could give me any helpful advice on:
1) what to look in to before commiting
2) if any red tape may prevent or hold up the purchase.
3) I am aware I will need a english speaking solicitor, anything else
4) are there any tax implications too.
5) could any finance be raised via a Polish bank for the build.
