Many too embarrassed to return to Ireland, others became too fond of the drink and even more thinking that there was nothing for them in Ireland.

Come on Sean. I think you're over doing it a bit there. You make it sound like every Paddy was p1ssed, living in squalor and fearing for their lives from gangs of skinheads on every street corner. I grew up in a city in England where 1 in 7 people are Irish and most of my friends are plastic Paddys. The story you tell is often told but rarely verified by first hands accounts.

They should have integrated and assimilated as any other european people did...

Other European peoples werent restricted to particular occupations. Its difficult to integrate with a community when you're stopped from working with them.
I cant deny Jews have an insular mentality but I'm just not sure which came first- the insularity or the imposed restrictions.

If they get the feeling they are abused by parasites...some might get miffed.

How can a people be seen as over represented in all the professions (doctors, lawyers the arts) and be seen as parasites? Surely if they werent in occupations but were unemployed they would be parasites, not the opposite. Seems like they cant win either way.

the bad treatment of the "gentiles" for 1500 years now either, getting kicked out, pogromed, killed in the end. Not very smart!

Dumb people kill intelligent people all the time. In fact it often tends to be that way round rather than the opposite.

Look where and how their achievements where made...give some credit to their host countries.
If the Jews themselves don't do it, okay.
But I personally don't believe they did it in a vacuum!

Why should the achievements of Jews be credited to their host nation but not any of their so-called faults?

That is why growing up in a community that values intelligence gives you more chances to achieve higher social position. Watching the products of Western pop-culture, I can see a lot of anti-intellectual attitudes promoted. You don't have it in Jewish culture - there, it's OK to be smart and witty, so more people work on developing their brains and end up as Hollywood producers, in the government or in other influential positions.

Agreed. Some people however find it easier to believe in conspiracies as this explains their own failings and those of their compatriots relative to Jews.

I find when I visit Polish friends there is always food being offered, tea and plates of biscuits but less so when I visit Scottish friends.

That's a good point. The slower people are "forced" to keep up. I buy my own when I am ready.

I understand how people may object to feeling pressured to buy drinks when their not ready. However, they never voice any objection when I'm asking them what they want to drink, or when I'm actually at the bar buying them. They seem to voice their objection by not buying me one back.

You dont like whiskey? Loads of guys I meet in Poland seem to love the stuff. When you get the plane over to Poland from the UK you see loads of people (me included) with their carrier bag containing 1 bottle of whiskey (for Dad), 1 bottle of Baileys (for Mum) and either a large Toblerone or a box of Heroes/Celebrations.

That's not the point. "Rounds" are just stupid, some people drink faster, some slower...

True, but that doesnt explain why everyone disppears when its their turn.

Its a bit of a myth to say that all Polish families crack open a bottle of vodka as soon as you arrive. Sometimes people just dont want to drink vodka. Maybe they've realised their are far more tasty spirits to be had such as whiskey, which they'll drop hints about so that you'll bring them a bottle next time you're over.

Also, when I'm in Poland I've stopped buying rounds as I realised I'm the only person doing it. People I know well are ok about it but all the others just take the p1ss. Its like they think they're being clever at getting a 'free' drink.

Where is the free world...poland, nigeria, germany...where? The free world is the US man....get it now and let it sink in....the free world where all cultures live...indians, mexicans, africans, japanese, English, Poles, chinese...they all live there...whcih other country can lay claim to having all cultures have presence in it....

England has these nationalities, and France, and Germany and Holland.

US is the free world.....Obama is the president of the free world....

Why is the US free and Europe not?

Poland is truly better, but you all import IT technologies that Indians working for American companies have designed. Show me one Technology or IT comminication platform that is truly Polish...Nasza klasa...,..huh?

Its called outsourcing and its done because its cheap not because its good.

America is great cos of its diversity and U all know that...

American success is because of a number of reasons. I reckon cultural diversity is one of the least important or decisive.

Poland is extremely capable in the IT sector. No need to import.

Doesnt Poland have more people than jobs as it is? Why import more labour and worsen the situation for Polish people by increasing competition for jobs and pushing down salaries.

Poland isnt a large economy so it doesnt need to suck in foreign labour, hence why 1milllion of you went overseas to find work.

I will tell you what we could gain...You could finally claim that...hey we are making history...an ex- communist country is now so tolerant that we have people of different backgrounds and colours ruling our country..just imagine our parliament with people like this, our would would definitely be better...

Why 'better'? Are ethnically mixed countries free from strife and troubles?

has it ever occurred to you that Poland HAD NO COLONIES OR SLAVERY...that is why the ppl there are mostly white

I also think its strange how every country MUST have black people. As though this is de facto a good thing. Tokenism isnt a positive characteristic I think.

Land in the CENTRE of a national capital is at a premium. Hence Warsaw high end is a different market.

Yes. It does depend on the location as some cities are more prone declines than others. I think you can probably include, to some extent, central Krakow as a solid market along with Warsaw as there is minimal development in there and so a finite number of properties.

The trend can be seen in other countries that have engaged in large scale urban apartment building such as Spain and the UK. Hundreds of empty unsellable properties sitting vacant and in negative equity for their owners. Theres no reason I can think of why Poland should be any different.

It seems to only mention Warsaw flats. City centre flats, especially the new build are always likely to lead the way in declines.
