Genealogy / zimmermann family [12]
I didn`t know about the town that Bob Dylan`s family came from, I did know that he is a Zimmermann.
I think he also has Jewish in his family. He has the same big nose that our family has been blessed with (I was told by my father that we have a Jewish nose)

Genealogy / how many know their own family histories? [139]
My Cousin has spent over ten years researching our family that came from Poland.
He has had a difficult time getting links from Poland but was able to go back to my great grandfather who was married in Prussa then imigrated to NZ during the war
We have all the info on the relatives in our own country, but no info on the rest of my great grandfathers family.
We do know that some of them went to the US. We also know that there is Jewish blood through our line as well.
The surname is Zimmermann, and it is possible that the name was changed at some stage, or miss spelt.

Hi, My great grandfather came to New Zealand in 1876, from Pojolton,Subkau, Poland west Prussia. He was married to Barbara Zella in 1874 at the catholic church in Subkau.
His father was Ignatius Zimmermann, and he was a shop tailor, His mother was Juliana
Cassatioski. His Grandfather was Milodam Zimmermann.
Three of his brothers came to New Zealand on the same ship, one was Michael Zimmermann born 1852, Statgard Poland.
The other two brothers (we don`t have their names) Left New Zealand shortly after arriving and went to the USA.
There are other family members that either stayed in Poland in 1896, or may have got on boats that took them to other countries.
To date we have been unable to find this link.
If you have any info that might help I would appreciate it
