UK, Ireland / Polish girls 'too pretty' for British schools [150]

Are you sure? Compared to what?

Well, I don't know it's true I was there only for a couple of days but I thought the colors were nice and bright... (? no?) maybe because the sun was there and it felt more like Spring whereas here in North America we were still under gray skies and surrounded by tons of snow.... Anyways, I thought they were more feminine ... maybe because where I live the average girl wears baggy jeans ?...

Life / Christmas or Easter - which holiday is more important in Poland? [12]

clean, and cook like crazy and reflect on what it means to us.

AHAHAHA I think it's funny how this reminds to my own culture (latin) that's why everytime I saw my mom cleaning the house like crazy I would ask: so who is coming? what are we celebrating? hahahaha

Law / I want to go to poland but worried about the army [38]

by saying its better, your implying it was worse first. therefore your saying the system has 'learned' by getting better. it didnt just happen out of thin air get better

I was refering more to the quality of life and yes, maybe respect of human rights (even the statement of human rights it's an improvement itself). But you must admit that those who should really learn from the past (country leaders, specially) do not really. I mean how much of the real information do we get? It's spooky to think (at least for me) that chances are the "oh-so-glorious-hero" is actually the bad apple... humm... or am Ijust being a little bit too paranoid?

Learning system?... I would unfornately not be so sure... but hey it's better, overall specially!
Though, I do not know why I have the impression that we do not learn from obvious past and not-so-past experiences. Maybe it's the lack of knowledge, the lack of wish to learn, the lack of really sharing the news. Because if you think about it, there are many situations in the world right now that could have avoided millions of people suffering. If only they would stop and think about what happened in past experiences or even what's happening to other human beings right now... Anyways! hehe

Yes, well I understand you brought very reasonable points... Because, actually even in our country, there is sometimes illustrations of that "weakness" of surveillance... it's just sad to realize that we are doomed!!! There ALWAYS has to be a bad apple among the group! Because even if the army was just there to "protect", to make sure that the society doesn't turn into chaos... Still, someone, somewhere will manage to break through the system... or even from the army, there will more likey be someone abusing of the power he/she beholds... Sad and disapointing... But I still have to keep hope alive and believe that maybe someday (at least in my dreams) it will work out!

Poor boy... one shouldn't be having such dilemma... not being able to go visit his family, country and all that because of the army!?!? humm... if there is something I'm really happy of my little, tiny, almost invisible country is exactly that... we don't have an army! wouldn't the world be a better place w/o it?!?

Travel / Isn't Warsaw a Sh*thole? [20]

hey! I liked Warsaw! It was the very first time I visit Poland ( march 2007) and I liked it! It's true it might have its communism marks but one could tell by the looks of the old city that the city was beautiful and to me it still is! Though, I really liked Krakow. There was something different about the atmosphere. Maybe that's it: people in Poland don't like the city of Warsaw enough? humm.... Believe in yourselves people! You can do it! You have so much to offer, so much to share, to tell! hahaha

What about Polish boys?!?? hahaha no one says something about them, the poor things!... I know a couple that are really cute... hehehe But it's true, I must admit it even if I'm a girl. They (the girls) have a very fine sense of fashion as well! I had an awsome opportunity to visit Poland and that is one of the first things I noticed girls/women dress extremely well!!
