Thanks! Ok well by judging my Dziadeks papers ( all of which seem to be late/post war, after the Division was renamed) he served in the -

16 Pomorski Pulk Artylerii Lekkiej or 16th Pomorski, Polish light/field artillery. This is stamped on all his legitimacy papers apart from one which is much earlier in the war.

He escaped through France unlike many of his comrades who were released from Russian
captivity...and made their way to the Middle East. So he has a legitimacy card for Polish
Soldiers serving in France.

Ok in the Photo we have from the left- Dziadek, center Wojek.... And a friend of my Dziadeks who was a member of the Motorized Commando unit attached the 2nd corps.

Dziadek wears the collar kite, while Wojek wears the pennant style patch. My Dziadeks
Sirena badge has a green backing....Szkotja thanks for your post too! Note on the link you
sent me ( Yes I do know it, but all help appreciated) That this mans Sirena badge has a dark blue backing and dark blue kites...I have been hypothesizing that my Dziadeks kite

might be green with either dark red or black border?

Anyway, enjoy these pictures more to come...I Dzenkuja!

History / 2nd Armoured Warsaw Division/ Warszawskiej Dywizji Pancernej [6]

Hi guys

New member of the forum, but have found some interesting topics over the last couple of yrs before I joined up today.

Great to see a Polish forum like this! Its awesome.

Anyway Im of Polish blood but born in Australia....After the war my family immigrated here.

Im very interested in Polish military history....And thats my main reason for joining.

I have a favor to ask of someone who might just know the answer...And I have tried so many places to find this information!

My Dziadek and Wojek both served in the 2nd Polish Corpse in Italy. Both survived the war
but now have sadly passed away.
I was given my Dziadeks medals, insignia and papers some yrs ago and have since been putting together there uniforms. Im almost finished except for 2 minor but rather crucial details for me.

As all the photos of them are in black and white, I cannot tell the colour of their collar kites/patches!!!! And it is one of the last remaining details for there uniforms.

I can supply allot of information on my Dziadek. but not Wojek, I have none of his papers.

If anyone thinks they can help I will upload images and more information in my next post.

Im very proud of all my family who went through the war and this is my way of remembering them.

Thank you very much for your time.
