Thanks! Ok well by judging my Dziadeks papers ( all of which seem to be late/post war, after the Division was renamed) he served in the -
16 Pomorski Pulk Artylerii Lekkiej or 16th Pomorski, Polish light/field artillery. This is stamped on all his legitimacy papers apart from one which is much earlier in the war.
He escaped through France unlike many of his comrades who were released from Russian
captivity...and made their way to the Middle East. So he has a legitimacy card for Polish
Soldiers serving in France.
Ok in the Photo we have from the left- Dziadek, center Wojek.... And a friend of my Dziadeks who was a member of the Motorized Commando unit attached the 2nd corps.
Dziadek wears the collar kite, while Wojek wears the pennant style patch. My Dziadeks
Sirena badge has a green backing....Szkotja thanks for your post too! Note on the link you
sent me ( Yes I do know it, but all help appreciated) That this mans Sirena badge has a dark blue backing and dark blue kites...I have been hypothesizing that my Dziadeks kite
might be green with either dark red or black border?
Anyway, enjoy these pictures more to come...I Dzenkuja!
