Love / Hard to talk things: Sexual diseases - would Polish women be honest about that? [137]

You are right Krysia. I dont think anyone here wants to punish someone who has contracted a STD. That being said, I wish people who made mistakes or believed the myth that casual sex is a liberating lifestyle without consequence or harm to anyone would speak up and let the younger people know that it can be a dangerous and even deadly choice. Imagine finding that person that you want to be with forever and having to explain to them why you carry a disease that will complicate the rest of your life and theirs if they choose to stay with you.

It was only luck that kept me from contracting one. The wife and I wish we had kept our virginity to give to each other, but it didn't work out that way. Some of you will laugh at that, and thats OK, doesn't change my reality.

Life / I want to leave Poland [82]

Are you serious? Do you really think they ate your dog?

Believe it. Some parts of Hmong culture are quite primitive or rudimentary. They are a true refugee group. I earned part of my tuition for school by tutoring Hmongs, mostly from the Khang and Vang groups. I believe that they grasp very well what the US is really about. Most Asian (non-muslim) immigrants tend to show one other thing that the rest lack. A sense of gratitude for giving them opportunities in life that their grand-parents could never have imagined.

See the movie Gran Torino, It is about a PA and a Hmong immigrant. The discerning soul will see a critique of all cultures and a pretty stark identification of the real problems of society.

News / Poles protest US Stalin memorial plan [28]

Shhhhh! Don't tell them. They think we are headed for socialism...

Well, Stalin (More honestly the Russian people) did the lions share of the work to stop Hitler. I think mention of this is very appropriate. In fact, Not mentioning it would be quite insulting. The question is, how do you create a memorial without making some group mad?

This is easy! We blame the evil capitalists for the fall of the peaceful and prosperous Soviet Union! Those party leaders and such had to go somewhere years ago. They came here! Just like the Nazis escaped to Argentina. Now they control the Democrat party through proxy politicians. Fairly common knowledge amongst the American people. The only bad thing is that it is also recent knowledge. The best quote I heard was, " It's too late to work within the system, but, It's too early to shoot the f*ckers! "

I Lol'd. My camera was made for family movies inside the house, so, any distance at all and you end up well into the zoom function. It sucks, I know.

USA, Canada / Happy Thanksgiving Day to all Polish Americans! [24]

These clips were taken last week while the deer were in "rut". He was smelling for a doe, but it wasn't me. There are scents available, but if you clean yourself properly and store your clothes correctly you don't need them. I do use a grunt call and "rattle" the aggressive bucks in. "Bugle" for Elk, "gobble" and "kee-kee" for turkey. It's pretty neat when you can get an animal to come hunt you. :)

It's like going to the club. If you find the does, the bucks will be along shortly. If you have a doe with you, the other does find you much more interesting. :)

USA, Canada / Are ther any Free Colleges in the US to join? [10]

Thats what he said he wanted to do.

It really depends on what you do for a living. I work in the electrical field and I turn down jobs everyday. It all depends on your vocation I suppose. Hey, you in Cleveland? I'm in Dayton. Go Bucks!

You gotta be downwardly mobile:)

USA, Canada / Teeth bracelet, (dental brace) the Polish way to gain success in USA? [11]

If the Dentist has the ability to make your teeth or your childrens teeth as healthy and pleasing to the eye as possible, why wouldn't he/she offer it to his/her patients? It would be like an auto mechanic changing the oil in your car and noticing a nail in your tyre but not telling you about it. You can make your own choices here, If you don't want to spend the money you don't have to. My brother got braces at 40 years old. He had a gap between his front teeth that always bothered him, one day he decided to spend the money and fix it. It appealed to his vanity or improved his self-esteem or something.

I had to chuckle about braces for pesenting a daughter as good marriage material.

If the teeth are far enough gapped to present a valid jaw deformity I would certainly spend the money. Shop around, Prices can vary greatly.
