Genealogy / Can anyone help me please - searching relative surname "Dubif". [6]

Hi Sean,
I checked nasza-klasa.pl but there is no single person with such a surname. What is more, the surname does not sound Polish. Ask your grandad what city he is from etc.

Ive got similar problem, my grandmas brother stayed in England after the Second World War (he was in Anders Army), he married an Englishwoman and they had children, he used to write letters with my grandma but my grandmas home burned down and they lost contact. do you have any idea how I can search for a person in your country?? his name was Jan Burliga and he was born 3 July 1922 in Budzów (Lesser Poland).

Genealogy / Jan Burliga - how to search for a person in England?? [3]

Hi everyone!!
People look for his ancestors from Poland here and I've got similar problem.
I'm Polish and I live in Poland. During the Second World War my grandma's oldest brother, Jan Burliga, left for England together with the Anders Army. After the war he stayed in England, married an Englishwoman and they had babies. Jan used to write letters with my grandma and their another sister, but my grandmas home were burned down and they lost contact. My grandma Anna is now deceased :( she passed away in 1995. My mum and I would like to find her family. Im afraid that Jan is also deceased but his children must still be alive. Maybe they could tell us something about him.

Some facts about Jan:
Jan (John) Burliga was born on 5 July 1922 (Im not sure but I will check it) in Budzów (Lesser Poland). His mother was Magdalena Rzadek (nee Burliga) and his father was Jan Rzadek. Jan was born before their marriage so he had the last name after his mother. And they did not change it I think. He had siblings: Anna (my grandma), Maria, Stanisława, Franciszek, Edward, Mikołaj (called Julian), Józef.

Does anybody know how I can search for a person in England?? Please help me. Thank you.

Czy wiecie jak mam szukać kogoś kto mieszkał w Anglii? Od czego mam zacząć? Pomóżcie. dzięki z góry i pozdrawiam.

I found out that Jan Burliga was born on 3 July 1922 in Budzów 115.

Genealogy / Grandfather's village? (Katowice?) [10]

I dont think so. the name is from the word "huta" and it is spelled with "h", not "ch". but there is a village "chutkowice".

Genealogy / Grandfather's village? (Katowice?) [10]

There is no such a village in Poland. Hutowce does not exist. If you want to now something about your family from Poland, maybe I can help u. I live 60 km from Katowice (very close to Czech Republic). Maybe you know something else about your grandparents? what was their surname? do you have any family living here in Poland? did your grandparents have any siblings?? ask your parents.
