Genealogy / Family in Poland - "Subik" [6]

Thanks. I'll check them out.

Ordered death certificate on Great Grandma. I recieved it today. It said maiden name unknown, birth city unknown....................Now back to square one.

The letter I found at my Grandmas was in Russian and is a death certificate for some named Jakub Wnupa son of Walenta and Franciska. City Pulawy. Could be maiden name for my Great Grandma?

Ideas?

Genealogy / Family in Poland - "Subik" [6]

Hello,

I am going to Poland for the first time in May and trying to find family members there. All I have thus far are names. My Great Grandpa and Grandma were Anthony and Sophie Subik. They were born in Poland around 1875 and 1878. They have 1 son, Egnatius Subik who was born in Poland and 1 daughter Wladyslawa (Lottie) Subik (my Grandma) who was born in Detroit, MI. All are passed away.

I think Sophie came to USA around 1905 via boat and Ellis Island and Anthony 1906? I cant find anything at ellisisland.org or much at ancestry.com.

Sophie passed away in Detroit, MI in 1963 (January 14th)

I also have a letter that I found with my Grandmas belongings. Its in old Russian I think. I think it is a death certificate but do not know name, city, region or anything. I will attach so you can view as well and hopefully assist me.

Thanks so much,

Matthew
