There isn't much apart from sports. I have Sky in Warsaw which is a life saver for me. Cable is also quite cheap in Poland if go for the basic package, BBC Prime used to be on cable but i've heard that they have stopped broadcasting.

I think the basic cable package is only 70-80 Zlotys a month.

I'm not got to start insulting you but don't be so negative, there are lots of Brits who live in Warsaw and they don't teach English!!!

Polanglik it will be difficult but it all depends on your experience and qualifications. I can't speak about Krakow but i'm sure there are lots of international companies down there.

I understand what you are saying Tinhead, i did meet a few people in Warsaw but with regards to my current job i didn't know anyone and i no advantage. I agree that it is hard if you don't speak Polish but it can be done if you have the right qualifications and experience.

You seem unhappy with Life in Poland and i'm sorry that it's not turned out very well for you.

I was moved to Warsaw by my company and when my contract ended i had the option of staying in my job and moving to another country or stay and try and find a new one....i chose the latter.

It is possible to find a good job in the city if you have a degree and good experience, my Polish is terrible and it didn't stop me from finding a job in Warsaw.

Have some faith it can be done.

You have to get your PESEL number from the town that you are registered in, i live in Warsaw but i am registered in Radom (cheaper tax).

You can get your NIP number in Warsaw, can't remeber the name as it's been so long but the office is dedicated to non Poles who require NIP numbers, you have to get a PESEL number first if i remember correctly.

I have lots of Friends who teach in Warsaw, some love and some hate it.

I think in Warsaw we have too many English teachers so maybe it is better to work in smaller towns and cities.

Yeah it's called the Ferry, very nasty place but tame compared to other Scottish towns.

I was back for xmas and had a great time, saw some sexy football and sampled some fine Scottish Malts.

Yeah i went through all that when i was there last year.

When i went i also had to take a copy of my work contract.

When i arrived it was so busy and i thought that i would be there for hours, lots of Africans, Eastern Europeans and Vietnamese all sitting around, i got my ticket and to my joy i found out that EU citizens had thier own room and i was first in line, it made my day because i could get back to the pub alot quicker.

I'm Scottish and have lived in Warsaw for one year, i was transferred here by my company but my contract finished last summer, so instead of moving to another country with my old company i stayed in Warsaw to work with a new company which was one of the best decisions i've made in my life.

I have a great circle of friends who are in a similiar position as myself (working in a foreign country) and i'm learning Polish which is difficult and frustrating but i'm enjoying the challenge so far.

I can only really speak for Warsaw and from the people who i've met i can assure you that there are alot more Brits here than i first thought and all have a very good opinion of Warsaw including the culture and people, Poles are some of the nicest people i've met and i've worked in a few countries.

If you have the chance to move here i would highly recommend it.

I was one of the people who were interviewed by Helen for this Guardian article. Having read it i was quite happy with the way it came out.

Helen didn't just "turn up" at Bar Below or Sense as you put it, i was contacted beforehand through my business contacts in London. Having read the article i can spot some quotes from people who will remain nameless and i know that they are stetching the truth and thats putting it nicely.

Most Brits who come here do not think we are better than others but we do in some cases add skills and knowledge which will help businesses in the long run, i love living in Warsaw and will stay here for a long time to come.

I live in Warsaw now...only been here for a month nut had visited it many times before....like most people who move to Poland i moved here to be with my girlfriend im loving every minute of it!!!!!

Warsaw is an amazing city and its very friendly in my opinion....the language is a problem at first but most people speak good english so you will be fine!!!

I would go for it...its a great place to live and work and if you like to go out to socialise you will have no problem finding somewhere to eat or drink plus the prices are quite cheap.

just back from Warsaw...i go there every 2nd weekend to visit my girlfriend....i went to bar below for the first time and i was very impressed with it...the staff and the manager Niall were very friendly so id recomend that to anyone who wants to visit an Irish/Brittish bar to hang out....not too pricey either.
