Life / I'll soon move to Warsaw, Questions about early days, [5]

I've finally received my work permit. I'll move to warsaw in a month. I've stayed in foreign countries for temporary projects but this is first time on a permanent job in a foreign country so I have some questions about it.

I'll ask them also to the employer if they can help but in case if they don't:

-I am planning to stay in a hotel for first 1-2 weeks so I can search a flat. Any hotel suggestion ?

- While I am searching a flat to rent ? Will I need someone who is native to Polish ? ( I think I will because most probably the aggreements will be in Polish) If yes How can I find someone or an agency trustable to help me (I am planning to pay for this) ?

- What is your experiences and advices about first days ?

These questions may look silly but I really want to complete early day tasks quickly and carefully.

Work / 5000$ Gross Salary. Is it good in Poland? [37]

Is there a standard salary rise in Poland or in Europe generally ? In Turkey We used to suffer from unstable economy and inflation for long period. So % 20 - 30 salary rise was something expected in early 2000's. Now economy in better shape but still there is a annual salary rise around % 5-10 (especially in IT ). Should I expect same in Poland ?

Work / Need help about employment process in Poland [23]

You can come and work in Poland on a work visa granted by the Polish Embassy if you are a non Eu citizen.Then you will apply for a residence permit in Poland. Getting all done once in Poland - 45 days !!

Yes I am told that process has changed on last february. It is now possible to receive a work permit while you are not in Poland. Anyway I expect to receive mine next week. Hopefully I'll move to Warsaw in a month.

I'll try when I get there, I mean should I try to learn something before I move (it may be very difficult to learn the language myself that's why I ask that).

I don't see any point to discuss this subject with you. I am sure I have more armenian friends than you. And what is your intention to blame someone or a nation with a historical claim on absolutely irrelevant thread ?

I'll move to Warsaw permanently. I'll be there for a new job. I think I will learn Polish in time. I am only worried about first 3-4 months.

Truth is such intelligence comes from the individual and how they apply it to the world of technology. Such excess advacement exists in Poland but like in many countires it isn't credited, sure talk can fuel but try finding actual statstics, you have all these countries who can't put a stone on anything in such a massive world in computer science

I agree with you. I am also a coder. I believe it's an individual talent which can not be scaled nation-wise.

I agree with SeanBM, communism is against to human nature.

I've attended projects in three former soviet union countries. Local employee's were really brilliant and clever guys but there was always same problem, they never wanted to take responsibility on any issue and They weren't hard working.

I think it's side effect of communism. In communist system they already have a job and they don't need to do something to keep it or they don't have any chance to go up. So best thing is just hanging around.

I hope it's different in Poland.

Also climate has an obvious effect on skin colour on very long term. So maybe after global warming it may be dark brown for everybody or if we live a new ice age everyone may be white.

And I think the all black or white future people would think only if our ancestors would be wise enough to understand there is nothing to do with skin colour and would be capable of making the world more enjoyable and peaceful place.

How old is he ? When I was in early twenties, I was drinking like that without any reason. Even I lost a girlfriend because of that. Now I am around thirty and I drink repsonsibly. It was a youth stupidity for me. It was also fun for that ages I am not very regretful.

Of cours it could be worse if I was addicted.

ulture and religion aside, if i was put in his situation i'd have a good moment digesting the problem then have an honest talk with either my folks or my lady and stick with one side instead of trying to eat a cake and shit on a cake.

I also agree it is what he should do. I hope he'll be capable of doing this.

Also muslims are not a particulary complicated breed either.

Islam is also vary in very broad range from region to region. Lovewithpolish is from Bangladesh (not a Pakistani or Arab). His situation may be different than it's thought. I think he don't deserve this much offense. Negative comments in this thread is more like prejudice.

You are right, also there are so few in the "Eastern" society so this should not be used to blame all easterners or muslims.
