Love / Is sex with Polish guys different to sex with English guys? [173]

sex? there are still people out there in the wide world having sex? I feel so old and discarded as I have been, grammatically speaking, 'making love alone'. Jeez, I'd settle for someone to talk with, grammatically speaking. Pillow talk. who are all you people? Where are all you people? The last person I had sex with was a Russian. His English grammar was lovely, his sex, no nuance. A rabbit, metaphorically speaking, one speed start to finish. I want some of this przytulic. where does one find it? and that sweet brit word 'whilst'. What do I do whilst waiting for przytulic?

Life / Zbigniew Zamachowski - Polish aktor, singer, musician. [6]

Yes! what a singer, and dancer! He might be the perfect example of having one's gifts recognized when young and nurtured... his performance in Zmruz Ochy makes me cry every time I see it. I always wonder at people like him-to have those gifts and use them so well. If we could all find our gift in such a way-what would the world be like? I am older than he is, and my gifts are not so evident...that makes me sad, a little.

He still lives and works in Poland? I see that he travels a bit, to film festivals and the like. New short film 'Luxus' done by a directoral student at the Lodż school in which he plays a pimp and pedophile, recently debuted at the Chicago Polish Film Festival. In Poland, do you all have access to much more of his work?

And, as an aside, an armchair traveller that I am, how is life in Poland? What is it like there? Is it like in films, or is that just all make-believe? I have a post-communist vision of the country, but those visions might be outdated. I've travelled to Western Europe a couple of times, so I know it's different from the US. We Americans are-how to say it-insulated and egotistical. The version of the world we receive through the media is not complete, of this I am sure. Or, are the people who reply here in another country? Everyone's english is very good, and I speak no Polish, so sorry : (.

Life / Zbigniew Zamachowski - Polish aktor, singer, musician. [6]

Thanks, Eurola, but I found another site, and I think the one you sent is the wrong guy, this doesn't match. Zamachowski was born in 1961, in Brzeziny, I think. I can't read this filmographia as it's all in Polish, but the movies match what I have seen. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.

Zbigniew Zamachowski. Please, someone tell me about this talented man. Just discovered him through Kieślowski and Zmruz Ochy. Found some things on the web, but most in Polish. Thank you, whoever replies!

Life / Can you think of any famous Polish personalities? [147]

well, I have seen Zurek, and the one about 'making a grandson'? Zróbmy sobie wnuke. And of course, White. I don't know Pułkownik Kwiatkowski, how is that translated? I am just fascinated with the guy, he's an 'everyman', I think.

And, can anyone translate for me polkrople, cwierckrople? I tried Polish translation online, to no avail.

Is Zbigniew Zamachowski popular in Poland? I just viewed Zmruż Ochy, and it was a great film. and didn't he work with Kieślowski in Dekalog? The Polish film schools seem to have made some great aktors....any Polish people know what he is working at now?

Life / List of Polish movies on DVD with English subtitles [30]

OH, this might be the thread for me. I have discovered Kieślowski and Zamachowski, but limited here in the US. I have Dekaloge and Trois Coleurs, with subtitles, at the university library here, but other Zamachowski movies... where do I find his films subtitled in English? Why do Americans not know about this wonderful 'aktor'? Any help would be great. Also, found an interview with Kieślowski on the YouTube, and now I understand why I am more attuned with this Eastern European culture more than my own....Anyone out there, please send me some good news. I am lonely for some real conversation.
